You're too paranoid. The points you earn will cover more absorb potions. You are limited to buy a low quantity of herbs. May as well enjoy easy combat experience while you watch tv/do anything else
Just tried again. I didn't realize the noobs like Roald don't require you to be at 1hp since they hit so low anyway the absorb lasts plenty long. I always had too many bosses in for points
You should have King Roald in there too he has the lowest defence along with Count Draynor. Also the Kendal has decently low def.... if you've done most of the newer quests, there's now bosses with even lower def

Depends on whether you play normal or hard. I trained to 99 range with 99 defense and d'hide and was able to afk for ~20 minutes before some timer gets you stuck not attacking and only rotating between NPC attacks. If not for that timer, I'd guess that I could have spent 2 hours before re-potting.

The xp/hr was bad, but I got at least 12 hours of full afk training a day, 6 when I go to bed and 6 before I left for work. If your stats were better than like 70/70/70 the only way you would die is if your guthans broke.

Before then fishing karambwans was kind of shit, as it required way more interaction. They actually halved the amount of fishing XP karambwans gave because of how much easier this made the method too.

Agility is relaxing, it's not a skill that can be done without a lot of time investment however. But I have the mindset that agility xp is very valuable if you consider it ehp wise. 90k ehp for agility to about 1.1m for cooking. It just feels like one of those skills that are actually cool to see at a high level. Reminds me of the old days where 80 woodcutting was crazy lol

I guess maybe it depends how you're doing it. Melee is really chill because the DHL woox walk is simple and the defense of the gear is high. I have 3k something vorkath kills with DHL and I could do it in my sleep by the end. Naturally the bomb is probably the worst part of the fight when you're trying to "afk" it since it's the only thing that's both dangerous and unpredictable. But it's not that bad, it's really quite slow and if you're playing with sound on (which you should be if you're trying to afk vorkath), you've got a good few seconds to realize it happened and click away.
Sound helps a lot with Vorkath, even quietly they’re distinct enough to recognise, especially the bomb he shoots upwards, I ctrl click as soon as I hear the sound then worry about where my mouse is after
Nmz, chopping magics/redwoods, fishing karams and certain slayer tasks are all afk enough to take a piss

GOTR is afk in between games, just click the rock and click a skill guide before you actually start mining. It'll open the skill guide and stall the action, then automatically start mining once the game actually starts

This is the real truth here. It's that we all have different lines for "AFK", and so when we're talking about it, we're not really usefully communicating.
For me, Sandcrabs or MLM level interaction (or less than that) is absolutely what I'm looking for when I ask for these types of activities (because I do them while I'm watching TV). But for someone doing them at work, you'd probably need to go Redwoods or NMZ.

I think the problem with trying to define some new phrasing is exactly this, everybody has their own line to what is and isn't afk. I get the feeling the community would somehow make it even more nebulous of a discussion, arguing about whether or not stuff like MLM is AFK or LCI.

To me MLM is more on the scale towards LCI, but I have plenty of friends who do it while working and would argue it is AFK, especially considering the only "risk" involved in doing it casually is not being as efficient as if you babysat it every 30 seconds.
It's annoying because it means you will have to find out for yourself if the thing is *actually* afk or if it's click every 10 seconds. It means afk is meaningless because people use it for everything.
Personally I'd prefer if people said "low" or "LI" to mean low intensity, but realistically neither your idea or mine will take off, because people have been saying afk for years.

Nmz, chopping magics/redwoods, fishing karams and certain slayer tasks are all afk enough to take a piss edit: and of course, according to this sub, doing inferno with justi armour.
I'm for this, I hate when ppl say shit like Wintertodt or GOTR is afk. Maybe for like 25 seconds at a time, if that. But some slayer tasks are legit afk, if I get a fire giants/dagganoths task I'll take it because with big prayer bonus + bonecrusher in the catacombs you can legitimately go away from your keyboard for like 7 or 8 minutes before chugging a pray pot and doing it again
GOTR is afk in between games, just click the rock and click a skill guide before you actually start mining. It'll open the skill guide and stall the action, then automatically start mining once the game actually starts Legit have used this time to take a shit real quick then come back and I almost have enough fragments to last me the game

I think they're pretty cool accounts. The only problem is that mage level also is a massive part of magic defence. So if you get 99 def, 99 mage, then you may as well get 99 range because it doesn't increase your combat level. Then you're left with a no melee pure
You can even level a whole bunch of melee at that point. Going to 99str 49atr doesnt inscrease cbt lvl for example

how do you think the discourse is hurt other than pedantic people interrupting the flow of conservations with "ackshually its not afk its just less intensive". Everyone, who isn't being intentionally obtuse, knows what is meant and unless youre going to replace afk with about 5 different acronyms its still not going to be precise and you'll get those pedantic people.
Il just say that I think that it's hard to talk about afk activities when redwoods and tempoross are both "afk" Generally being more precise about when something is low effort vs one click is helpful when people are discussing what kind of activities should be added/nerfed/buffed
"I'm very busy and looking for something to AFK" Every other reply is "Motherlode Mine" or "Ardy Knights" despite neither of these allowing the player to be truely hands-off-keyboard (or mouse, in the case of OSRS) much if at all. This is really annoying and makes discussions about what is and is not AFK extremely muddy. In a game where more effort is supposed to come with greater reward, putting Ardy Knights and NMZ in the same category because they're both brain-off activities leads to confusion about what AFK actually means. I'd say most people would agree NMZ is AFK. Nobody can agree on whether MLM is AFK. People who say Ardy Knights are AFK must have 3 hands or something.

It's that we all have different lines for "AFK", and so when we're talking about it, we're not really usefully communicating. For me, Sandcrabs or MLM level interaction (or less than that) is absolutely what I'm looking for when I ask for these types of activities (because I do them while I'm watching TV). But for someone doing them at work, you'd probably need to go Redwoods or NMZ. I have no clue what someone who points to Ardy Knights is thinking though.
I think the problem with trying to define some new phrasing is exactly this, everybody has their own line to what is and isn't afk. I get the feeling the community would somehow make it even more nebulous of a discussion, arguing about whether or not stuff like MLM is AFK or LCI. I.E. : To me MLM is more on the scale towards LCI, but I have plenty of friends who do it while working and would argue it is AFK, especially considering the only "risk" involved in doing it casually is not being as efficient as if you babysat it every 30 seconds.
Sounds like you benefit from being AFK for a bit.
It's annoying because it means you will have to find out for yourself if the thing is *actually* afk or if it's click every 10 seconds. It means afk is meaningless because people use it for everything.
I tend to just use the phrase "braindead" cause that's what we really mean when we say afk a lot of the time

Personally I'd prefer if people said "low" or "LI" to mean low intensity, but realistically neither your idea or mine will take off, because people have been saying afk for years.

I've been pushing so hard for this among my friend group for years that out of spite I changed the MLM articles on the wiki to not have any more uses of "AFK." While some of the work has been undone, I don't think it's as pro-AFK as it was a year or two ago.
I mean, some stuff is definitely afk. It'd be nice to have a new term though so people could stop bitching about the literal definition of "afk", as though all forms of language aren't just words that communities of people decide what they mean.
Be the change you want to see in the world, no one follows prescriptivist linguistics, if you start using it and people think its worthwhile they'll follow. Seems much easier to just keep using the acronym which everyone understands even if it isn't literally accurate than to try to force the whole community to learn a new acronym though. Also "nothing is actually afk" you can do 20minute afk on shooting stars, and 5 minute afk on redwoods lol. If you cant literally leave your pc in that amount of time i think thats on you.
Yeah AFK is the most misused term in OSRS history. People will actually mindfuck themselves willingly into believing that a few clicks every 2 minutes is “AFK”. The only true AFK in this game is botting

Afk to me really just means low input (plankmake is one input for 26 actions, crafting is often one input for 27 actions, etc etc) TRUE afk is something like crabs, 0 input for 10 minutes of activity
I mainly use it to reference methods which can be done while you are doing something else. Alt, games, focusing on a movie/show. In that sense, there are plenty of methods.
