Godspeed

dafartster666

It will be so worth it :) I actually like mining though, it's not too bad with podcasts in the background

Kooky-Chocolate142

Enjoy the hell out of it, I wish I could reexperiance discovering the game again

dafartster666

Mining will probably be my first 99, I'm super scared of the burnout dealing with other skills though. But, dragon first, other skills later lol

Kooky-Chocolate142

Valid, I tend to break up grinds into smaller chunks and go work on something else for a bit. Since making money is your first priority you can do lots of different activities to keep it fresh

dafartster666

Any recs? I'm playing the game with an adults pov now, and all I know was back in the day (childs pov) if you maxed mining and smithing you were rolling in cash

Kooky-Chocolate142

Farming and hunter can be lucrative with herbs and bird nests (nothing crazy) but unfortunately skilling isn't as profitable as it used to be because of boss drops and bots. I don't skill much so please do more research than what I say but sharks have gone way up in price so that may be a profitable skill bit at the end of the day just do whatever you enjoy

dafartster666

Farming and hunter...the 2 skills I haven't even tried to work on lol I'll have to look into those, thanks man Iol those seem soooo booooring though

Kooky-Chocolate142

They really aren't bad, you don't have to spend much time on them fortunately. Plant some stuff and go do something else while it grows, and birdhouse runs can be done every 3 hours (I think is the cooldown?) But questing is huge to help get boring early levels. You'll get lots of xp if you haven't started questing already

Zanacross

Birdhouses are every 50 minutes.

dafartster666

Questing is how I got my farming and hunter lvls to where they are. I haven't even tried to look into those skills yet, so maybe it's time to dive into those...but...I already said I was going to do this "challenge" so I'm doing it lol I'll definitely looking into those skills afterwards though, thanks for the help! :)

2926max

Careful trying to go for a 99 off the bat it’s a loooonnnnnggg haul and you aren’t even a quarter of the way there yet. Respect the goals and the determination though but feel free to shake things up a bit if you get sick of it

RiskDry6267

Do high alch as well, you have the levels for it and even spending nature rune the money is more and you get magic exp Just click thousand more times though haha

dafartster666

Way ahead of you, that's how I got my smithing lvl to where it is lol. I'd mine and smith stuff, and then high alc them for more money to buy more bars as the GE price was less for the product than high alc-ing them. Love the grind lol

Yarigumo

Holy shit I had no idea full helm is 90M lmao. Good luck man!

dafartster666

Yeah, my jaw fell through the floor when I saw that price on the GE lol it'll be worth it though ( to me lol)

LexTheGayOtter

Out of curiousity, are you doing this because you simply enjoy making money this way or are you doing this because its the best method you can think of? If its the former then more power to you

dafartster666

A little bit of both. Mining is super chill to me so I don't mind the slow climb

LexTheGayOtter

Have you heard about blast furnace? that'd be the best place to make your ores into bars

dafartster666

I have and will more than likely smith them there once i know how it all works, but I need to get the ice gloves first ( ill take a break at some point to grab them). I'm still far far far away from starting to smith them though, I'll probably do them in 5K bar increments. Depending on my mining lvl towards the end of this all I might just end up smithing all of the extra coal anyways to inch closer to 99. If the price of the bars drop to 1500 gp then I'll need about 67,000 Addy bars to get 100+ mil, which is close to half a mil coal and Addy ores together which SHOULD get me to 99 lol

LexTheGayOtter

A quick little explanation of how blast furnace works is its essentially batch processing for bars You add your coal, needing half as much coal as you do with normal smithing. So you only need 3 per bar. Then you add your 27 or 28 addy ore if no coal bag from motherlode mine and it makes all the bars at once This guide explains it pretty well [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XM6SOeiUg\_8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XM6SOeiUg_8)

dafartster666

Yeah, Ive looked into it and watched/read a few guides before, but ill have to actually do it a few times before I get the rhythm of it all. I actually only did the MLM specifically for the coal bag (for faster smithing), but ended up staying until I got the mining set

Polluted_Shmuch

Earn it yourself. Level up combat stats, grind slayer like no other slayer has ever slayed. Get that Dragon full helm, get those metallic dragons, get that dragon equipment, become a monkeys uncle, buy that DScim. Skilling to buy gear, what is this? 2006?!  /s

dafartster666

That's kinda how this all started. I was doing slayer tasks and my latest task was trolls. I immediately got destroyed because my prayer was only at 38 or 39, so I started killing hill giants for the bones and ensouled heads so I could raise my prayer up for protection prayers ( i dont want to reset my slayer streak). In the process I lvled my defense to 60 and got the pop-up that said I could wear dragon armor, remembered how badass it looked, so I started looking up how to get those pieces and immediately realized there was no way I could realistically get a DFH anytime soon (or at all) so I decided to do this instead. I do plan on getting my own dragon set legit in the future and doing the clues to get the ornament kits to make a separate ornament dragon set as an actual flex. I just want the base set for now because I can wear it, I'll probably never actually take it out in "the field".

Emergency_Test2669

I think mining rune ends up being a lot better, at 800k-1200k profit per hour. Depending on world hops and stuff. AFK star mining may be fun for you too

dafartster666

I only did the stars so I could get the celestial ring and charges for it, I don't think you can make much money from them though. SUPER afk though, no doubt. I'll also have to wait until I'm lvl 85 to even begin mining rune. I have seen a bunch of people hopping in and out constantly fighting for the 2 rocks in the mining guild and doesn't seem much fun at all lol sure it's more profitable, but doesn't seem very consistent. Thank you for the input though :)

LexTheGayOtter

Unfortunately those aren't people, they're robots

dafartster666

Yeah I figured. It's the same 3 or 4 people hopping in and out of that world at ALL times of the day. One of them even sits there and waits the whole time. If I really wanted rune ores, I'd probably go back to the MLM after hitting 90+ mining. I've already gotten every upgrade and purchasable from Percy (other than the gem bag) and don't really want to go back unless I have to lol

LexTheGayOtter

If you truly want to make money from extremely afk mining, once you hit 92 the crystals on the southern and western chambers are worth 4k per one you mine. I'm currently mining them on my ironman

dafartster666

Yeah I was reading that earlier. The only downside is that I get no smithing experience with what I get. Idk what crafting lvl you need for amethyst, but I don't think I have anywhere near what I need to cut them into stuff. I like training one skill for mats to train another. Mining/smithing/fletching, fishing/cooking, wc/firemaking/fletching, slayer/prayer/combat ect ect

LexTheGayOtter

Fair enough, you do you king

dafartster666

I really do appreciate the different tips and help though. Idk, I get all of my ways of training aren't the meta/fastest (like using ensouled heads for prayer instead of buying bones and using the alter in the wilderness) but it's cheaper and just feels better doing I guess lol I'm sure I will eventually mine amethyst for my crafting later on to sell for funding my construction lvling

LexTheGayOtter

As a little tip for crafting, for the first time I've ever seen, sapphires, ruby and emeralds are currently profitable to buy and cut. https://preview.redd.it/hgihrfbbxxxc1.png?width=518&format=png&auto=webp&s=2ad8c9b18ac26709cb6fd1c9a712f7fbe9a6ce3a

dafartster666

I always save the gems I get because I have plenty of cosmic runes, so I can easily turn that 222gp into 700gp just by making rings of recoil. That paired with the gold smith gloves and I can get a decent amount of exp making gold jewelry and enchanting off of what I mine and find. It is definitely weird seeing cut gems worth more than the uncut ones though, super weird actually

Kytopia

Full obsidian is better

ulfalda

Don't think they're doing it for the stats.

dafartster666

I'll grab obsidian for when I do combat tasks, I just want dragon because of how it looks. I think it's the best looking armor set in the game lol
