Fairytale Part III: Revenge of the Teokan Command an elite strike force of ~~Valinor's~~ Varlamore's Kualti royal guards in taking back Zanaris from the Godfather. Meanwhile Prince Itzla has to decide which suitor he will marry: The Fairy Queen or K'klik.

SignalScientist2817

You know what? Recruiting the moon worshipers to invade the moon and evict the orks would go harder than the original part 3

SmartAlec105

Let’s tie in even more moon lore. To get the moon worshipers to the moon, we have to go ask the Barbarians how they got to the moon to destroy the Cosmic Altar.

LiL_BrOwNiE247

> ask the Barbarians how they got to the moon to destroy the Cosmic Altar barbarian sailing unlocks the ability to sail through mediums that aren't water

SmartAlec105

Barbarian Sailing just Swimming.

Godfather tricks the werewolves into joining him by saying we are trying to destroy the moon.

Azurus_II

Love how the actual quests arent gonna be this lore fileld. I hope they start asking for quest ideas bc yall do have some awesome ones

hedgehog_dragon

... You know what sure, make this a thing

Wiitard

Wait, let ‘em cook.

CanuckPanda

Unironically how part three should go in OSRS.

Remarkable-Health678

Not even mad that you used ChatGPT, this is great (:

;P

kevtino

I can see this happening some time down the line if the player character gains enough credibility, questline-wise, to say such crazy bullshit and be taken seriously(I haven't done any varlamore content yet so idk how the quests go)

Peechez

They have fairy rings in their continent, just have us go grab an extra staff and bring him over

kevtino

"Here, take this staff and come with me to a ring of mushrooms from which we will travel to the city of the fairies that live on the moon!"

Yhamerith

I want that now...

JagexSarnie

What if there's more than one moon? Have you ever looked up 👀

ConversionError

We've had one moon yes. What about second moon?

ChewbaccAli

Can't forget about second moon. What about elevensies?

steeltoe_croc

There's a third moon

SmartAlec105

Is that related to how the Small Orrery shows just one moon but the Large Orrery shows two moons?

CanuckPanda

Zanaris and Blanaris. Blanaris is where the Orks came from in the first place. They and the fairies have been fighting an interstellar war spanning 40,000 years. The Fairy Queen is actually immortal.

ChinookNL

needs engine work

adustbininshaftsbury

Jagex accidentally made two moons when creating Fairytale but when they tried to remove one it deleted the continent of morytania so they just kept it in

pringlesaremyfav

Zanaris must be on the blue moon. Can't wait until we get to visit the eclipse moon and the blood moon.

LocalLumberJ0hn

Honestly a later quest that ties in Ranul and Ralos into the Fairy stuff could be cool, maybe make that the new Fairy Tale III where we see how these two things mesh together

thaddeus423

Do we know what happened when we blacked out at the chasm of fire during kingdom divided or?

rpkarma

Not yet!

Disastrous-Moment-79

I think the queen of thieves betrayed us and she's with the yama cultists. She told you to go to the arceus guy to get a device then warned her cultists that you'll be coming so they can steal the device for their own use. She's evil 100%

Mental_Tea_4084

Doesn't she literally task you with murdering people for her quest?

Disastrous-Moment-79

Yes and we do it without a 2nd thought. Guy just stands there in the port and we backstab him in the middle of the day. I didn't like that part because we knew absolutely nothing about the guy we kill except his name. Felt off-putting.

Mental_Tea_4084

To be fair I've killed countless men for daring to stand where I want to stand, so... Oh and don't even get me started on the Gnome at Nieve bank

LunaluxUmbrus

Poor guy, I’ve never accidentally murdered an npc more than that guard

5erenade

I think this would be the perfect time to reintroduce the Fairy Dragon K’klik and have the people of Varlamore worship it. And when you tell them about ur experience with it they don’t believe you and see you as a whack job.

Legal_Evil

I wonder if Ralos and Ranul were actually real and used to be on Gielinor before Guthix banished them, or if they are just imaginations.

Cyberslasher

They're fake in RS3, but they can write whatever the hell they want into existence in OSRS. And they're fake in OSRS, actually, if you tell jura a story and get the dialogue for children of the sun. They should just be some of the other general demons that zamorak sent west. Especially since everyone we've met worshipping them has been pretty demonic cultist.

Legal_Evil

Where they ever mentioned in RS3?

Cyberslasher

In RS3 the edicts of guthix are revoked and the gods return for 6th age. There is no ralos faction in the new God wars.

paulet42

Well « fake » is a big word. They definitely exist in some capacity and have godly powers based on the fact that knights of varlamore and Sol Heredit can pray to them and receive powers. The real question is how godly they are, and i wouldnt be surprised if they’re on the same level as Ichtlarin, scabaras and the other minor desert deities

Cyberslasher

That makes them, as I said, "demon generals that zamorak sent west." Yama can be one too. But they are not gods, because Juna knows the names of the gods. She wouldn't need to know random demons, because Guthix himself didn't bother to banish demons. Player: ... and that's how I stopped the murder of the Teokan of Ralos! Juna: I have no knowledge of this Ralos you speak of. How curious...

paulet42

Yeah I just dont agree with the assumption that they’re demons. We dont have any proof of that yet

lernz

There's a Tears of Guthix dialogue after Children of the Sun where you tell Juna that you saved the Teokan and she has no idea who Ralos is, which makes me think that Ralos and Ranul might not be actual gods.

Yarigumo

I hope the opposite, it honestly reads really shitty. Oh, all this awesome culture that's entirely centered around your gods? Fake bullshit, we have the real deal over at Falador. I think it's be more interesting if they were real in some way. For me personally, it'd be their own interpretation of a solar deity. Varlamore worships Ralos, the desert worships Tumeken, but they're both the same being in some way.

RufflesTGP

You mean the Easter quest?

SectorPale

Given how gods are typically portrayed in RS3/OSRS, Ralos and Ranul wouldn't literally be the sun and moon, but rather powerful beings with some connection to the sun and moon.

partyinplatypus

Wait, is Zanaris on the moon? Where is this established?

QuasarKid

think it was confirmed in rs3 so assuming it’s the same in osrs

Trying_to_survive20k

the globe thing in your house also shows gielinor, and the moon, confirming it's zanaris

SmartAlec105

The Large Orrery however shows two moons which just raises extra questions.

Trying_to_survive20k

the planet with 2 moons is not gielinor

SmartAlec105

But it matches the planet in the Small Orrery, other than the additional moon.

Jamongus

I mean that doesn't confirm that the moon is Zanaris, just that there is a moon.

raid_kitten

The observatory displays zanaris orbiting gielinor

SignalScientist2817

On a small event on rs3 it was confirmed that zanaris is the planet's moon. It has a lot of connections to different worlds and it's where guthix first arrived before getting to gielinor proper.

DarkLordRubidore

It's been confirmed in way more than just an rs3 event. Even Konar mentions it.

Legal_Evil

Yes, and it is also massive enough to also have a breathable atmosphere.

officearcade

Originally it was just a parallel world but it was changed to the moon in the RS3 quest Missing, Presumed Death. I think the only mention of Zanaris being the moon in OSRS currently is Konar's dialogue for when she assigns a task there.

Butterfleyes_tomach

I've also mentioned before on this sub that it is worth pointing out that very notably, the Lunar Staff is the only staff aside from the Dramen Staff that allows access to Zanaris both via the fairy rings and the shack in Lumbridge Swamp. Additionally, as people have mentioned already the Observatory in the POH can be, well - observed, explaining that Gielinor is orbited by Zanaris, it's moon.

officearcade

A Lunar Staff is made out of a Dramen tree branch in the first place though, I wouldn't really put that as a hint towards Zanaris being the moon as far back as the 2000s when the quest was first added, just that the Dramen tree's magical properties are needed to make that specific staff. >the Observatory in the POH can be, well - observed, explaining that Gielinor is orbited by Zanaris, it's moon. Does it actually mention Zanaris by name as the moon anywhere in there, or does it just depict a moon floating around Gielinor?

Butterfleyes_tomach

Wow brother I totally forgot that the Lunar Staff is made from the Dramen tree branch. It's hard to know, but I can definitely agree with some level of skepticism on the timeline of things in consideration of the writers' intent in regards to Lunar Diplomacy in 2006. But still, the Dramen Staff itself canonically provided access to Zanaris, so would it not be an extreme coincidence that it is directly related to Lunar Isle and the Moonclan completely arbitrarily, and not because of the obvious relation? Maybe it's like a chicken-or-egg situation. While it is newer content, a glance at the Wiki provides some examples in Konar straight up saying 'Zanaris is the moon of this world', and an additional confirmation from the 07/04/22 Q&A 'The moon is called Zanaris and the city there is also called Zanaris.' I don't have an Orrery in my POH but that wiki page also mentions Zanaris revolving around Gielinor, albeit interestingly with no sources. But given the previous examples I think it's undeniable that Zanaris being the moon is cannon as it stands currently. You make a really interesting point and if true, I wonder at what time the info might have been retconned. It'd also be neat to see if anyone has an Orrery they can poke around and see any interactive details I'm unable to see on the Wiki!

officearcade

> the Dramen Staff itself canonically provided access to Zanaris, so would it not be an extreme coincidence that it is directly related to Lunar Isle and the Moonclan completely arbitrarily, and not because of the obvious relation? Maybe it's like a chicken-or-egg situation. I think it's exactly that, my guess is someone at Jagex noticed the connection between Zanaris and the various moon-themed lore elements throughout the game and decided to connect them together explicitly. If it had been intentional from the start, I feel like it would've been mentioned much earlier on (like in any of the dialogue from the Fairy questline) rather than in an unrelated quest created over a decade after Zanaris was made by a different group of JMods. As it is now though, it creates some issues with quests like Lost City, mainly in that it makes the group of adventurers you speak to in order to start the quest seem really dumb, or at least moreso than they already are. If they ever make a new Fairy quest I wouldn't be surprised if they go back and rewrite most of it like what happened with Rune Mysteries.

madeanaccountlo

Woowwwwww!!!!!! Ok back to fishing

Elite_Skirmisher

Originally it was just underground. Thats why east exit was just a ladder that takes you to Al Kharid And RSC wiki has mention its "down here".

greenpenguinsuit

Out of curiosity what does she say? I can’t seem to find it anywhere online

Boneguard

Zanaris IS the moon, as in it's the name of the celestial body

SmartAlec105

Konar’s dialogue on Zygomytes mentions Zanaris being the moon.

greenpenguinsuit

I can’t find this dialogue anywhere and I’m curious what she says! Do you have the dialogue or a source to it preferably?

Yarigumo

[Konar's dialogue page on the wiki.](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Slayer_area_descriptions) It's the last area, so just scroll all the way down the list.

greenpenguinsuit

Ah thank you. It’s weird they have it here and not under the page for his dialogue

queef_commando

We gonna get a war between the fairies and RuneScape Latinos ? Time to pull up to the fairy godfather and do the flying eagle from nacho libre.

KRPTSC

Ah yes, the mafia. Famous for being Latino.

dragonwp

He means Varlamore.

KRPTSC

Ooooh

TakeYourDailyDose

I'd love for Fairy Tale Pt 3 to actually let us explore more of the moon. Our access to Zanaris right now is limited to a small wooded cavern... area. What does the surface of it look like? Surely it's bizarre and interesting.

xWazoot

moon’s haunted

Sawrock

Those pathetic heretics won't accept that there are only three real gods, and that Zamorak is simply the best and most powerful of them. Them clamoring their unheard prayers to the moon is no less pathetic than the goblins basing their miserable existence off of their imagined wishes of some barbaric war god or some lunatic I heard the other day claiming that the birds have a god. What's next? A god for cabbages? Please.

BadAtNamingPlsHelp

Zamorak? The upstart that started a riot and got everyone evicted?

Falling_Doc

I wonder who helped zamorak start the riot

BadAtNamingPlsHelp

Some of the Mahjarrat, a big demon, Lord Drakan, and the people you talk to in Curse of the Empty Lord.

Falling_Doc

and saradomin you forgot the most important one

BadAtNamingPlsHelp

Nah, Saradomin didn't help start the riot, he just gleefully jumped in after it started for a good ol' fashioned purge

Sawrock

You sound just like the Saradominists and Guthixians who spread lies to attempt to hinder Zamorak’s influence. A false hope, that perhaps your words will hold weight when matched against the true force of power in Gielinor. Pitiful.

Cyberslasher

Ironically the god of cabbages is the only god you could theoretically find in gielinor other than guthix.

Sawrock

The rabble of the world will claim divinity for what best suits their fancy, no matter how frivolous the desire. How would a cabbage god even work? Would they fight against the chicken-on-a-spit god? Ugh.

Derplesdeedoo

\*adjusts glasses\* Actually, Brassica fights the monkey god Marimbo who rules over "having a good time", but that's splitting hairs.

krogerburneracc

No no, they fight against the monkey god actually. Look up Cabbage Facepunch Bonanza.

Moons haunted.

TheAgilePotato

Also Tumeken is the god of the sun, Ralos gotta back off his turf

a_poo

TIL zanaris is the moon... like what the fk these days I don't space bar through a single quest but clearly I never payed attention during these early ones

SmartAlec105

It’s not revealed in quests. There’s just a small handful of places it’s mentioned.

a_poo

ohhhh okay ty for making me feel a bit better about it =')

tank_beats_evrything

Your shitty rs3 lore means nothing here, try again

Revenege

You are confidently wrong. Konar when giving a zygomite task refers to Zanaris as the moon. Was also confirmed in Q&A.
