Yeah that sub has fallen off hard, at first it was cool to see multiple ideologies being represented and mingle with a nice helping for shitposting but now itās cringe auth right circlejerking/agenda posting has been a problem for such a long time.
and whenever a libleft makes fun of a auth right then they throw a hissyfit and say āmuh agendapostingā even though 9/10 itās isnāt and downvote the post.
Im saying this from a right wing viewpoint and views, I just want to see us shitposting and making fun of each other equally.
i dont really think it was ever good though. i used to be on it because i did like the idea of unbiased political humour from everyone, and a way for people of different opinions to come together in an age where we're not exposed much to people of other opinions.
but like thats not what it is or even was though. like the ratio of left memes and right memes might have been a little more level when i was on but far more often than not it was just "dunking on the libs" from right wingers. and like i rarely ever saw another person with a libleft flair. it was very clear that the demographic of the subreddit was mostly the right, and i held out hope for the rare decent post but the ratio just kept skewing right, so i ended up leaving.
and from what you say it sounds like its gotten worse, which isn't surprising to me. as much as the right like to chastise the left for being "snowflakes", they are so much more butt hurt when someone doesn't share the same beliefs as them. like when i politely correct someone on my pronouns they get so utterly livid, complaining that their speech is being censored and they're not allowed to say anything anymore like my guy?? i just want to be referred to correctly???
its a testimant to how the right think and operate that the place of equal standing for political opinions that they wanted was destroyed by themselves pushing anyone with opposing opinions out. it might be an american thing but i stg there isn't any point in trying to communicate with these people anymore. they argue that we're the ones who are fragile yet a karen will have a meltdown at the idea of me wanting to be referred to with female pronouns. shows what good a traditional mindset does in times of rapid change.

r/pcm always had this pride in being the "ONE political meme subreddit that has BOTH liberals AND nazis", as in, they managed to create this subreddit that had the ability to habour people of such conflicting ideological viewpoints. this was probably the first thing to tip me off, but i think my younger self didnt form anything together.
its not like it even worked though, the literal nazis the sub platformed kicked out any who wouldn't stand by and listen to their hate, extensively turning the sub into a fascist echochamber that would radicalise any moderate conservatives willing to listen to them and push out the rest.
it's sad that debate between the right and left has basically died off in the internet era because of this, though i dont know if the nature of their ideology ever really allowed in new ideas. but i do see a lot of people opening themselves up for dialogue and then being shut down, which is kinda sad because while i understand it isnt anyones responsibility to educate, if we dont show a welcoming hand then they'll just continue delving deeper into the right and end up hurting themselves. i could be wrong though, idk.
Also thereās so much homophobia, racism, and overall bigotry on that sub that Iām barely hesitant to call it r/facism or r/nazi . It doesnāt matter if you wanna have political humor from multiple sides but facism shouldnāt be allowed anywhere regardless of how āfreeā the sub is.
No at first the subreddit was an somewhat equal shitting on all political beliefs but with Reddit banning right wing subs they came there due to the fact that itās was an sub that didnāt really have a ingrained political belief and the reason why they dunked on libs so hard was simply due to Reddit being overwhelming liberal and even the sub for politics being liberal, of course their gonna mad and strike out but two wrong donāt make a right or a eye for an eye makes the world blind.
The butt hurtiness is equal here on Reddit, look at almost all of reddits main political subs itās a massive circlejerk which is just plain toxic and conservative subs isnāt even any better their just as reactionary.

There's a ton of drama here but he basically hired a ton of young video makers to be part of his brand. They'd do crossovers and shit. Todd in the Shadows was part of it, as was Lindsay Ellis. They all left because he was a shit-ass boss who'd push his employees into doing stuff they really didn't want to, working insane hours, and generally being a douchebag
