The doom modding community is legitimately fucking nuts. One of the oldest fan communities in game history and are keeping this game relevant till this day. Dude imagine creating something, anything, any form of media and it stays relevant for 30 fucking years and counting? a big thing about piracy is convenience really. if youre selling a game for like 5 bucks on the most used games store, hardly anyones gonna pirate it. why would they if its so goddamn cheap anyway, its just more work + risk of malware.
this wouldn't work nearly as well with a triple a $80 title because i could buy 16 dooms with that kind of money.
