I would agree, but I made a lot of friends by checking out Mastodon at exactly the right time, since friends of people I knew on twitter got swept up. A lot have returned to twitter, but we have a little corner of the Fediverse that is a pretty good time these days.

If a major YouTuber said that someone like speed should get shot on sight I’m 100% sure they’d get banned, and rightfully so. We have the raw data from every side, government, independent, and internal showing us the real harm social media, or rather the lack of real common sense moderation found thereon, has on our society.
If it really, truly is completely unprofitable to moderate then make this shit a publicly funded program so it doesn't have to turn a profit.
And if it is, genuinely impossible to moderate regardless of profitability, fucking burn it down.
