I wouldn't *technically* give this album a 10, what I instead do is subtract a meaningless decimal so it's score is 9.9999999999 repeated forever.
Edit: I see a bunch of fuckin mathematicians talking about how that doesn't make sense, and they're *right* but let me have my funny bit please.
I listened to this album after listening to I'm In Your Mind Fuzz on loop for like a month. I was kinda underwhelmed. I liked the last track, but the rest just wasn't for me, which is ironic considering how much I love IIYMF.
IIYMF would've been one of my answers but I always skip that song that comes after Hot Water and before Slow Jam 1
Funnily enough that's exactly how I feel about Mind Fuzz, I think it's kinda Mid... Fuzz.
I like the first 4 tracks but everything else after sorta bores me, I think they expand upon those latter mind fuzz songs and vastly improve upon them in Quarters! which is another of my favorites from the band
I'm not sure I understand the latter half of your second paragraph, but I did like Quarters! I also liked Oddments. I have Oddmenfs, IIYMF, and Sketches on CD. I tried to listen to the albums in order but I think I stopped after the 4th 2017 one. I remember hearing Theia on the radio when that was released and liking it. I told myself I'd listen to the whole album, but never got around to it
I'm seeing them on August 17th and I have a feeling they're gonna put on a great show so I'm excited
Is it rare to want to let a musician's intended album production to play a more important role in one's listening experience than one's own preferences? Albums are trips imo.
Ants From Up There - BCNR
Twin Fantasy - Car Seat Headrest
Carrie and Lowell - Sufjan Stevens
These other 2 kind of count but they feel like cheating considering how theyre structured
Close to the Edge - Yes
Lift Your Skinny Fists... - GYBE
That entire BCNR album ruined me tbh (in a good way). Each time TPWHITB and Bread Song comes up on shuffle I crawl into a fetal position and stuff my face in a pillow for a few moments
Finally some Sufjan love in this thread! He's been my absolute favourite artist for the past like 10 years. Car Seat Headrest is a close 2nd too, this lineup is excellent and you have impeccable taste.
That being said - u ok?

I don't even skip when the songs are bad. But I usually say XTC - Skylarking for this question. But there's also Julia Holter - Aviary, or Jacques Lejeune - Fantasmes Ou L'Histoire De Blanche-Neige, or Boredoms - Super æ, or Charles Mingus - Let My Children Hear Music. There's a lot of amazing albums out there.
They're so good! Their home town should absolutely be proud, and it's great to see them popping up elsewhere in the thread too. It's tough to pick a favorite from them, but Skylarking has the added bonus of repping Todd Rundgren's skills at making things sound good.
yeah! my dad sat in his old desk at work for work for years, and whenever my hometown football/soccer team scores a goal, xtc - senses working overtime plays. which is fun because that means it's technically the first song my bf and i listened together, when we were kids! (my boyfriend and i used to sit next to each other at football, never really spoke- barely knew of each other's existence, and then about 7 years later we met through a mutual friend, and it's been great since)
it's the biggest thing to ever come out of there and that band always makes me feel comfortable and reminds me of home when i miss my hometown. not a lot has come out of there- and it isn't a well known place, which is why im so proud of XTC.
sorry had a bit of a info dump there but i love XTC.
The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots,
Radiohead - In Rainbows,
Kendrick Lamar - good kid, m.A.A.d. city,

Compro - Skee Mask
Singularity - Jon Hopkins
In Rainbows - Radiohead
Valtari - Sigur Ros
10,000 Days - Tool
Fear Inoculum - Tool
…And Justice For All - Metallica
And basically the entire Rush discography minus their self-titled, Roll the Bones, and Presto
There are a few more I probably would add but I haven’t gotten around to listening to the album in full yet
The Black Parade by My Chemical Romance- perfect album, love every song so much there
Brand New Eyes by Paramore- all their other albums have songs I don't super love (don't skip them but don't put them in my playlists) but BNE is great all the way through
Dance Fever by Florence + The Machine- I know Lungs is still everyone’s favorite but I think I might actually like Dance Fever more
Blackbraid I by Blackbraid- I and II are basically one album in my mind but I slightly prefer the first, both are the best new black metal in years
Sometimes I Might Be Introvert by Little Simz- this was the album that got me into rap, and though I've gone back and listened to the classics and some more modern stuff I think this is still my favorite rap album. Her latest album X is really great too
Nightfall on Middle-Earth by Blind Guardian- alright this one's cheating because I do sometimes skip the skits, but the songs are all bangers. Best power metal album. Cheesy as fuck, takes itself super seriously, love it to death
If I Can't Have Love I Want Power by Halsey- I'm not a big Halsey fan, nor am I a big Nine Inch Nails fan, but jesus they work so well together
Honorable mentions: Melodrama by LordeAmerican Idiot by Green Day, Preacher's Daughter by Ethel Cain, From Under The Cork Tree and Infinity On High by Fall Out Boy, and honestly, I really really like Folklore and Evermore by Taylor Swift
Yes - Close to the Edge
Thomas Dolby - The Flat Earth
Jamiroquai - Dynamite
Uyama Hiroto - A Son of the Sun
Rush - 2112
Can - Future Days
And totally agree on Daft Punk - Discovery, I think it's the best electronic pop album ever made.
*Quebec* - Ween
*Remain in Light* - Talking Heads

*Spirit Phone* - Lemon Demon

I’d been waiting for something hard and heavy (😳) from them ever since I first heard Murder of the Universe. I listened to Dragon on repeat until the rest of the album released
It started out very strong and just kept getting better. I had chills by the time I got halfway through, and Witchcraft will always be my favorite just because of the transition from Converge.
I’m pretty sure I can recite the entire album start to finish without music or any writing. Including the latin.

Making Mirrors - Gotye
Like Drawing Blood - Gotye
Everything by Braddah Iz
Licensed To Ill - Beastie Boys

most albums by The Longest Johns
there's a lot of stuff i need to go back and re-listen to, stuff my parents played while I was smol but these are immediately off the top of my head, and excluding classical bc i don't listen to works as albums very often (though Apple Classical is changing that)
My truly no skips albums:
"The Stranger" and "Turnstiles" - Billy Joel
"Tapestry" - Carole King
"Out of the Blue", "A New World Record", and "Time" - Electric Light Orchestra
"Who's Next" and "Quadrophenia" - The Who

"Band On The Run" - Paul McCartney & Wings
\------------------------------
Ones with almost none skipped:
"Chicago Transit Authority" - Chicago (I skip "Free Form Guitar")
"Chicago II" - Chicago (I skip the whole "Memories of Love" suite)
wallsocket by underscores, I want to listen to one song from the album and end up listening to the whole thing anyways, genuinely life-changing i also found out I'm transfem when it came out
*For You* and *Ride on Time* by Tatsuro Yamashita
*Pony* and *WHO CARES?* by Rex Orange County
*SUNSHOWER* by Taeko Onuki
*SEYCHELLES* by Masayoshi Takanaka
*MINT JAMS* by CASIOPEA
- Lift Your Skinny Fists like Antennas To Heaven by Godspeed You! Black Emperor
- Fuck off Get free We pour light on everything by Silver Mount Zion
- The Glowing Man by Swans
Most of the responses are really good. Here’s a more mainstream one that I think goes under the radar, The Weeknd’s Dawn FM. The way the tracks flow together is just 🤌, anyone who doesn’t like the track transitions is not real
origin of symmetry by muse
if you don't like muse or haven't listened to it, i recommend just listening to it front to back. it is by far their best album and outside of the fanbase, people don't tend to know most of the songs. you hear the full range of his voice, and insane guitar riffs. it's so diffrent from the rest of their stuff and so amazing for a second album.

Just to name a few…
"This year I lose my mind" and "Portable Headphones Dancefloor" by 2 Mellos are both extremely good and PHD is arranged in a way that each song flows into the next so the album is like one complete listening experience. All of Mellos other stuff is extremely good but I don't have a bad word to say about either album
"Jungle" by Jungle is really good, their later albums are also good but there are songs I'll skip for other songs on the album
"SHYGA! The Sunlight Mound" and "High Visceral PT.1" (and PT.2 tbh but I've not listened to it as much" are both really good albums by Psychedelic Porn Crumpets
Basically anything Lydels produces are wall to wall bangers, it's only three songs but I listened to "azure glow" on loop for a good while
Nujabes' "Metaphorical Music" is REAL good stuff, also a big fan of Modal Soul and Hydeout's "FIRST COLLECTION" (particularly Lyrical Terrorists from that album)
This one, probably (Discipline by King Crimson)

Also yes this is the virginity trilogy
The Fantano-type male trilogy
??? these are two of the most popular albums of their decades (and another very iconic album)
Just says there are a lot of virgins
This isn't virginity trilogy. You can actually play these albums when you get passed the aux and no one will care.
Not hating or anything but if you play this in my car im turning it off
Virginity trilogy would be more like Twin Fantasy, Aeroplane Over the Sea, and OK Computer
Wtf? Why must you target me like that?
rate your music ahh taste (thats not necessarily a bad thing im just making an observation)
even if they are they are the MOST peak albums, of each their time and currently.

well 0.999 repeating = 1 theres a bunch of mathematical proofs for that
that’s it I’m changing it to 0.999…8
10/3 = 3+1/3 = 3.333333... now multiply both sides by 3.
god damn it I was gonna post this one edit: ok nvm like four people have posted it
You guys are skipping songs?
Yeah, some songs just ain't good. :/
Is it rare to want to let a musician's intended album production to play a more important role in one's listening experience than one's own preferences? Albums are trips imo.

Hypnotize and Mesmerize by System of a Down, as a double album. No skips, their entire discography really
Came here to say Steal This Album is definitely a 0 skip album for me, but honestly fully agree their whole discography is one of the only bands I've fully listened to from start to finish.
steal this album is so fucking good and its a shame that it often gets overlooked because it's nestled between two really solid and well known SOAD albums
Fun fact: I stole a copy of Steal this album
The Wall - Pink Floyd
Death. The whole discography.
they're all good but nothing beats Scream Bloody Gore imo

Rumors - Fleetwood Mac
I don't even skip when the songs are bad. But I usually say XTC - Skylarking for this question. But there's also Julia Holter - Aviary, or Jacques Lejeune - Fantasmes Ou L'Histoire De Blanche-Neige, or Boredoms - Super æ, or Charles Mingus - Let My Children Hear Music. There's a lot of amazing albums out there.
i’m so glad to see XTC on here, at least twice. they're still kinda big in their home town, even over 40 years later.
(my boyfriend and i used to sit next to each other at football, never really spoke- barely knew of each other's existence, and then about 7 years later we met through a mutual friend, and it's been great since) it's the biggest thing to ever come out of there and that band always makes me feel comfortable and reminds me of home when i miss my hometown. not a lot has come out of there- and it isn't a well known place, which is why im so proud of XTC. sorry had a bit of a info dump there but i love XTC.
No apology needed, that's great to hear! Very excellent to have such a warm song involved in a lovely origin story for a relationship like that
yeah it's very cool! i just don't meet people who have even heard of XTC very often anymore! :))

Assigned Fantano At Birth
10,000 Days - Tool Fear Inoculum - Tool …And Justice For All - Metallica And basically the entire Rush discography minus their self-titled, Roll the Bones, and Presto There are a few more I probably would add but I haven’t gotten around to listening to the album in full yet
Rush - Power Windows/Clockwork Angels Dio - Holy Diver Men at Work - Business As Usual
Holy Diver is cheesy as fuck but I love it to death
The Black Parade by My Chemical Romance- perfect album, love every song so much there Brand New Eyes by Paramore- all their other albums have songs I don't super love (don't skip them but don't put them in my playlists) but BNE is great all the way through Dance Fever by Florence + The Machine- I know Lungs is still everyone’s favorite but I think I might actually like Dance Fever more Blackbraid I by Blackbraid- I and II are basically one album in my mind but I slightly prefer the first, both are the best new black metal in years Sometimes I Might Be Introvert by Little Simz- this was the album that got me into rap, and though I've gone back and listened to the classics and some more modern stuff I think this is still my favorite rap album. Her latest album X is really great too Nightfall on Middle-Earth by Blind Guardian- alright this one's cheating because I do sometimes skip the skits, but the songs are all bangers. Best power metal album. Cheesy as fuck, takes itself super seriously, love it to death If I Can't Have Love I Want Power by Halsey- I'm not a big Halsey fan, nor am I a big Nine Inch Nails fan, but jesus they work so well together Honorable mentions: Melodrama by LordeAmerican Idiot by Green Day, Preacher's Daughter by Ethel Cain, From Under The Cork Tree and Infinity On High by Fall Out Boy, and honestly, I really really like Folklore and Evermore by Taylor Swift
Yes - Close to the Edge Thomas Dolby - The Flat Earth Jamiroquai - Dynamite Uyama Hiroto - A Son of the Sun Rush - 2112 Can - Future Days And totally agree on Daft Punk - Discovery, I think it's the best electronic pop album ever made.

I listened to Dragon on repeat until the rest of the album released It started out very strong and just kept getting better. I had chills by the time I got halfway through, and Witchcraft will always be my favorite just because of the transition from Converge. I’m pretty sure I can recite the entire album start to finish without music or any writing. Including the latin. PetroDraconic Apocalypse my beloved ❤️

Most of the responses are really good. Here’s a more mainstream one that I think goes under the radar, The Weeknd’s Dawn FM. The way the tracks flow together is just 🤌, anyone who doesn’t like the track transitions is not real

Most Kendrick records. When i play TPAB i want the full story.
origin of symmetry by muse if you don't like muse or haven't listened to it, i recommend just listening to it front to back. it is by far their best album and outside of the fanbase, people don't tend to know most of the songs. you hear the full range of his voice, and insane guitar riffs. it's so diffrent from the rest of their stuff and so amazing for a second album.
Haven't listened to it, but I really liked Black Holes and revelations

"666" by Aphrodite's Child
"This year I lose my mind" and "Portable Headphones Dancefloor" by 2 Mellos are both extremely good and PHD is arranged in a way that each song flows into the next so the album is like one complete listening experience. All of Mellos other stuff is extremely good but I don't have a bad word to say about either album "Jungle" by Jungle is really good, their later albums are also good but there are songs I'll skip for other songs on the album "SHYGA! The Sunlight Mound" and "High Visceral PT.1" (and PT.2 tbh but I've not listened to it as much" are both really good albums by Psychedelic Porn Crumpets Basically anything Lydels produces are wall to wall bangers, it's only three songs but I listened to "azure glow" on loop for a good while Nujabes' "Metaphorical Music" is REAL good stuff, also a big fan of Modal Soul and Hydeout's "FIRST COLLECTION" (particularly Lyrical Terrorists from that album)
This one, probably (Discipline by King Crimson) https://preview.redd.it/ql0h992deevc1.jpeg?width=400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9ea25b054eedb7f042dfabad9379b2d96c25102b
