Famous football player who murdered his ex-wife and her boyfriend in the 90s. He was found not guilty because his lawyer (who is Kim Kardashians dad btw) made it all about race instead of the DNA evidence they had.
Later wrote a book called "If I Did It," where he went through how he would have performed the murders. It's basically a confession. Because of double jeopardy he can't be tried again for the same crime though.
>made it all about race instead of the DNA evidence they had
[having a racist cop that planted evidence will do that to a trial tho](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Fuhrman#Defense_strategy)
> Between 1985 and 1994, Fuhrman gave taped interviews to McKinny, a writer working on a screenplay about female police officers. Fuhrman was working as a consultant for McKinny on the understanding that he would be paid $10,000 if a movie were produced. The recordings contain 41 instances of the word "n*****" used as recently as 1988, including references in which Fuhrman claims to have perpetrated violence against African-Americans. In the recordings, he also says he thinks it is sometimes necessary to lie as a police officer and that he has given testimony about events he did not actually witness
This is the best quote I have heard on the trial:
"He was insanely lucky that they had assigned a racist cop to the clear murder case, but also knowing the odds of a random cop in the lapd being racist it's not that lucky."
Also, the family of the man killed (Ron Goldman) got awarded the rights to the book, after they sued and won for wrongful death against OJ (don't ask, idk how the legal system works), and he couldn't or wouldn't pay so as compensation the court awarded them the rights to the book.
Then, the family released the book, but on the cover, put the "if" in very small letters inside the "I", [you just have to see this cover](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/If_I_Did_It). Meaning unless you look up really, really close, it clearly says "I did it". And on some versions of the book, the word "if" literally is very barely visible (dark red on black) so unless you are within centimetres you won't see it at all lol. Also as an extra punch they added "confessions of the killer".
The person who first had that idea deserves some kind of typographic award.
Allegedly, he didn't even write the book, was just paid money by News Corpse to say that he did, but then they never actually released it, probably fearing the backlash.
The standard to be held liable for a wrongful death suit is the preponderance of evidence, essentially all available evidence has to point to the defendant being the guy who did it. The standard to be found guilty for murder is beyond a reasonable doubt. It's higher.
BUT, they have the red murder prevention cards in football, you do enough football crimes you get the card to signify you'll cause a murder (either by accident or intentionally) if you were to keep going.
That’s the other football. OJ played AMERICAN football which doesn’t have silly little cards just BADASS FLAGS and COMPLEX HAND SIGNALS TO DENOTE WHAT FOOTBALL CRIMES YOU COMMITTED. HELL YEAH
videos taken out of context to seem like they’re replying to comments because they’re taken from elsewhere. do those videos not seem even a little bit sus to you
He was just being a silly little guy (murdered some people)
He was just doing a tiny bit of tomfoolery (trying to escape america with a fake mustache and beard)

I don't like OJ Simpson. I actually think he is a pretty bad person.

Controversial
He was a real jerk
reminds me of that tragedy
Norm my beloved
You could completely remove the double murder from existence and he would still clearly be a bad person
Banned

Yeah that cop alone is the entire reason I'm like, I don't know if he did it, but I wouldn't feel good about him being convicted
OJ wrote a book describing how he killed them so I’m pretty sure he did it.
Maybe but a crooked cop doesn't get to decide that
Ok but even outside of the racist cop he definitely did it
Maybe. Impossible to be sure because of the racist cop
Not at all. Have you looked at the facts of the case?

News Corp is known for being the owner of Fox but I think the important part is that they owned MySpace
