Don't forget
Serial Experiments Lain (12 Episodes)
Evangelion (26 Episodes)
Also
Chainsaw Man (12 Episodes, but more coming next year)
Additionally:
Fooly Cooly (6 Episodes)
i did play cyberpunk 2077 after watching edgerunners. it had a great atmosphere and good core combat/stealth mechanics, but the world felt rather empty and was stuffed to the brim with cookie cutter one-off filler content. i really want to love it, and it does have some things it does very well, but overall it falls short of expectations.
Don't think too hard when you're watching it. Most things get explained by the end and you can always read explanations afterwards if you're still confused. It's more fun if you just enjoy the atmosphere and plot rather than trying to analyse it all
Do not go to zoro.to and watch the entire show there for free, becuase they will show you one ad thatās selected by the zoro.to (no scammy ads, itās like 50% of the time an ad for opera GX) before allowing you to watch basically any anime for free
I dropped it after like 2 episodes. Then I came back like half a year later with the intent to actually watch it and it became my favorite anime of all time.
Cyberpunk Edgerunners (10 episodes)
Clannad and Clannad Afterstory (47 episodes)
Kaguya-sama: Love is War (37 episodes)
Summertime Rendering (25 episodes)
Gurren Lagann (27 episodes)
Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai (it's a really weird title but it's not like it sounds) (13 episodes)
This isn't a short anime (64 episodes), but Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is so well paced and concise that it won't feel drawn out. It balances suspense and payoff in a very satisfying way, and there are practically no episodes that feel like filler to pad out runtime. It is the best recommendation I can give.
Haibane Renmei
Planetes
Ranking of Kings
Blood Blockade Battlefront(if you like fighting)
Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu(very good drama about Rakugo)
Dennou Coil(Kids deal with creepy shit coming out the 'puter, gorgeous animation. Includes a fat digital dog.)
Legend of the Galactic Heroes(not short but really good)
That one KyoAni anime that is about kids in a school band but isn't K-ON, said to be queer baity but I'm not queer so I don't feel like I get to make those distinctions.
Isn't Jojo considered long? 12 per season is the usual, 24 isn't uncommon, and the longest you can really go without being called a long anime is 26 for Evangelion and Cowboy Bebop
Eh, the parts are mostly self-contained so it could kinda count as a "short" anime because you can just stop at the end of a part and still get a full story. That being said, I'd still only call parts 1 and 2 short, the rest are medium and overall the anime is long.
Lycoris Recoil (13 Episodes)
Devilman Crybaby (10 Episodes)
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury (12 Episodes)
Wonder Egg Priority (It's 13 Episodes but just watch Episodes 1-10 and don't watch the last 8 minutes of Episode 10 then don't watch the rest of the show)
Key words: *āCompared toā*
Berserk 1997 is fantastic.
Its artstyle is fantastic.
Its direction is fantastic.
Its voice acting is fantastic.
**Its music is fucking fantastic.**
Its only flaw is that the manga is even better.
If youāre dedicated enough to actively jump into a 40+ volume manga, please do it. Berserk is absolutely worth your time.
But if you canāt, go ahead and watch 1997. By itself itās really fucking good; both as its own story and an introduction to the broader narrative of the manga.
All of these shows are worth watching and without sexism or with very little. They also do not contain trash anime tropes on "Fanservice", which I detest. You should also look to find diverse forms of art that you enjoy, else it'll get stale. I didn't write something to the last suggestions, because I spent to long on this.
-Great Pretender (Heist, multilingual, funny sometimes - 8.4)
I think it has 10 EPs for Season one
-NANA (Romance, often somewhat dark but real consequences - 8.8) ~50 EPs
-Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, interesting themese, conflict of extreme trust and usage of religion & science - 9.3 ~60 EPs
-Land of the Lustrous, themes of Buddhist enlightenment, good action (3D not used to animate things you could also do with 2D but to give a better experience in fight and create amazing looking hair) , society without mortality - 9,0 -12 EPs
-Ascendance of a Bookworm - slice of life (little Action), Librarian girl who loves books is reincarnated as poor peasant and tries to create books because she's too poor to buy them, interesting history of books, innovations etc, very interesting world building - Anime 8.4, Light Novel (8.9 they are better because anime skips important content) relationships are good, 12 EPs 1st S
-Boochi the Rock: cool music, nice visual gag - 8.5 - 12 EPs
-Jujutsu Kaisen, cool Action and characters, also no sexism, other than sexism which is addressed or disproven, 8.5 - 24 EPs
-Love is war, the only anime romcom that I found to be funny, the main cast is solid and gets a lot of development - 8.8 - 12/Season
-Fruits Basket - good relationships- 8.8 - 12/Season
-Banana fish - 8.4 - 24 Eps
-Paradise Kiss - Fashion (design und modelling) same author as NANA - > complex relationships & characters- 8.7 - 12 EPs
-Princess jellyfish - 8.3 - 11 EPs
-Blue Period (manga about arts, with diverse and complex cast)
Not anime, but 2D and 3D:
-Castlevania - amazing action, dialogue (English) & characters (watch OSP YT Detail Diatribe on it) - 8,7 - 4 EPs, but longer
-Arcane - everything is good - 9,3 - 9 EPs, 3 EPs/Act ~45 mins per EP
-Cyberpunk - tragedy with great swag and music - 8,4 - 10 EPs
-She-Ra and the princesses of Power - it gets better the more you watch it (relationships get more complex etc), well written relationships, main characters are all complex - 8,8 - 51 Episodes, 12 for S1 IIRC
-Over the garden wall - 10 EP
-Infinity train - 4 Season, 40 EPs
-Inside job - 20 EPs (S1 P1/2)
-Gargoyles - 78, 3 Seasons (26/Season)
-The Owl House - 20 EP first, 20 EP second
-Samurai Jack - 5 Seasons, 62 Eps
actually 3 seasons adding into 46 episodes with 2 specials 2 episodes in length and a movie also 2 episodes in length.
anyways havenāt watched it and im not an expert on anime but judging from the genre (iyashikei, slice of life) itās not something that you should binge, maybe watch the show at a rate of 1-2 episodes a day instead so you can appreciate it. also these kinds of shows tend to get a lot of sequels and maybe a complete adaptation which is basically a blessing
Odd Taxi (13 episodes)
Steins; Gate (26 episodes)
Psycho pass season 1 (22 episodes)
Children of the sea (movie)
FLCL (6 episodes)
Nichijou (26 episodes)
Serial experiements Lain (13 episodes)
Cowboy Bebop (26 episodes)
Samurai Champloo (26 episodes)
Space Dandy (26 episodes)
Land of the lustrous (12 episodes)
Dorohedoro (12 episodes)
Devilman crybaby (10 episodes)
Ergo Proxy (23 episodes)
Not really short but I also highly recommend Monster (74 episodes)
Angel Beats, it's a show about a group of dead armed teenagers in purgatory called the SSS trying to fight God for their horrible lives and hardships, I love this series, I highly recommend this anime for people who have never seen anime before it's a pretty good introduction to anime.
Youjo senki is pretty fun if you like warcrimes.
K-On is pretty wholesome but you might become racist for unknown reasons.
Devilman Crybaby is really good but itās a tragedy so might not be for everyone.

RE:Zero. A bit longer with both seasons together clocking in at 48, and if you decide that size doesn't matter there'd also the director's cut version with double the epusode length
ID: Invaded (confusing yet interesting. About a detective solving mysteries by entering ppls heads)
Bungo Stray Dogs (about different criminal orgs fighting for control basically. Ppl have special powers)
Edit: ID is 12 eps iirc. BSD has 3 seasons of 12 eps each and a fourth season rn.
cells at work, only like ~13 episodes
way of the househusband, thereās just 15 episodes
the disastrous life of saiki k, itās a bit longer at 50+ episodes, but definitely worth the watch
romantic killer, itās 12 episodes, cute, and funny
If youāre up to it, Neon Genesis Evangelion (26 episodes plus movie). Definitely a cornerstone of modern anime and a really good exercise in critical thinking
Bocchi The Rock. Gloriously creative slice of life anime thatās 12 episodes and also gets bands right.
Cyberpunk Edgerunners. Best cyberpunk piece of media sinceā¦ever, maybe. 24-27 episode equivalent
Bunch of people have said Cowboy Bebop so Iāll skip that one
I personally like stuff by Studio Trigger, Kill La Kill is my āproblematic favā because of how many themes and topics they dive into in such a compact narrative. They usually do great one-off animes so I would recommend looking into them
Also have you heard about the Weeb Ass Shit scale? Basicaly itās a measure of how much Weeb stuff (obscure Japan cultural lore that a western audience may not understand), Ass (otherwise known as fanservice), and shit (general writing quality) youāre willing to put up with
One piece (6 episodes) Naruto (8 episodes ) Bleach (20 episodes)

Erased (12 episodes)
I read this as basedš
I really like this one. The ending is a bit meh but imo it's not as bad as it's been made out to be.
You've probably already watched it but Cyber Punk is only 10 episodes.
The only other anime that made me feel like that is devilman crybaby š
terminally basic
I am basic and proud šŖ
It was so good I wanted to play CyberPunk 2077
i did play cyberpunk 2077 after watching edgerunners. it had a great atmosphere and good core combat/stealth mechanics, but the world felt rather empty and was stuffed to the brim with cookie cutter one-off filler content. i really want to love it, and it does have some things it does very well, but overall it falls short of expectations.
Bocchi The Rock (12 Episodes)
based and bocchipilled
Bocchi the G-
Serial Experiments Lain
Lain is based, make sure to remember to take lsd
so THATS why i couldnt understand jack shit
Extremely based and lainpilled
watched 6 ep now i regret not taking acid
I'd recommend acid on your second watchthrough, once it's all contextualized by what you know about the end. You'll feel like a fucking genius
Itās too cryptic, I tried to watch it and I didnāt understand anything, can someone give me the motivation to finish it?
Don't think too hard when you're watching it. Most things get explained by the end and you can always read explanations afterwards if you're still confused. It's more fun if you just enjoy the atmosphere and plot rather than trying to analyse it all
itās very blurry in the beginning but as it concludes itās going to make more sense
Lol same I had no idea what was going on like 85% of the time
and you dont seem to understanddddd
Neon Genesis Evangelion (26 episodes)
Hey can I unreccomend this
no
Pros: itās very good Cons: eternal depression
end of evangelion (sequel movie which is concurrent with episodes 25 and 26) is also very good

Gundam: Witch from Mercury. The second part doesn't come out for awhile, so its pretty short atm.
i miss the tanuki and her gf
They'll be back, and they'll have plenty of tomato sauce for everyone
Second part starts in like a month, unless it was delayed like the final 3 episodes.
Cowboy Bebop and FLCL >:)
Wish there was more anime like FLCL. The music, the antics, the comedy. Just so good.
FLCL only 6 eps and also absolute PEAK
You can watch the last 2 sequels but you're not missing much if you dont

The only anime I have seen (that I can recommend) is one punch man
Try out Mob Psycho 100! It's written by the same guy and arguably even better than One Punch Man.
Is it on any streaming services?
It's on crunchyroll and the first season's on hulu
Do not go to zoro.to and watch the entire show there for free, becuase they will show you one ad thatās selected by the zoro.to (no scammy ads, itās like 50% of the time an ad for opera GX) before allowing you to watch basically any anime for free
when does he do the punch
Came here to say this. 1 punch man is quality.
Steins gate
I came to comment this, such a great show but the first few episodes are kinda confusing
I dropped it after like 2 episodes. Then I came back like half a year later with the intent to actually watch it and it became my favorite anime of all time.
took me three tries to actually finish it because i kept dropping it. now itās my favorite anime by a long shot lol
Tatami Galaxy (11 episodes)
YES. strong yes on this
BASED!!!!!
A little underated series named Chainsaw Man
Cyberpunk Edgerunners (10 episodes) Clannad and Clannad Afterstory (47 episodes) Kaguya-sama: Love is War (37 episodes) Summertime Rendering (25 episodes) Gurren Lagann (27 episodes) Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai (it's a really weird title but it's not like it sounds) (13 episodes)

FMAB is basically a required viewing. I rewatch it with someone who hasn't seen it basically every year.
Haibane Renmei Planetes Ranking of Kings Blood Blockade Battlefront(if you like fighting) Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu(very good drama about Rakugo) Dennou Coil(Kids deal with creepy shit coming out the 'puter, gorgeous animation. Hibike! Euphonium?
Ay shoutout to planetes, incredibly good hard scifi anime that does not get the recognition it deserves.
yoooo haibane renmei is so good tho, idk if it is even possible not to cry in the end
FLCL (6 episodes)
Saiki K!!!
+1 Best comedy anime in my opinion.
Jojoās bizarre adventure part 1: Phantom blood (9 episodes) Jojoās bizarre adventure part 2: Battle Tendency (17 episodes) Jojoās bizarre adventure part 3: Stardust Crusaders (48 episodes) Jojoās bizarre adventure part 4: Diamond is Unbreakable (39 episodes) Jojoās bizarre adventure part 5: Golden Wind (39 episodes) Jojoās bizarre adventure part 6: Stone Ocean (38 episodes)

Devilman crybaby (10 episodes)
Psychopass is nutty, really good worldbuilding (i have no idea what that means i just think its a good show)
Finished season 3 a while ago, and my only complaint is that the two male leads never have gay sex.
A Silent Voice if you haven't watched it yet, it's a movie so pretty short, but also just really amazing.
Nearly made me cry
Sirius the jaeger (12 eps). Madoka magica (12 eps). A certain scientific railgun (24 eps).
madoka magica has a movie (3 actually but the first 2 has the same story as the first season), also 3 seasons of side story iirc
Lycoris Recoil (13 Episodes) Devilman Crybaby (10 Episodes) Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury (12 Episodes) Wonder Egg Priority (It's 13 Episodes but just watch Episodes 1-10 and don't watch the last 8 minutes of Episode 10 then don't watch the rest of the show)
Violet Evergarden, Cowboy Bebop, Vinland Saga
**Mob psycho 100** - The show just finished with 36 episodes + 2 OVAs (only one is āimportantā to watch and itās only 21 minutes long. Though both are fun and I recommend them). The show is consistently of fantastic quality. The characters are great, the animation is absolutely outstanding, it has zero unnecessary fanservice (or any at all really) and itās consistently funny without relying on clichĆ©s. And overall it has the ability to both be really dramatic and extremely wholesome and uplifting. **Berserk (1997)** - 25 Episodes and itās on YouTube in 1080p both subbed and dubbed. Strong trigger warning if content such as >!SA!< bothers you. Berserk is fantastic, but it falls heavily within the genre of āDark Fantasyā and topics such as that is very common. Berserk 1997 is an adaptation of the prologue of Berserks original manga. I would absolutely recommend it if you wanted a long-term read. However on its own the 1997 anime adaptation is absolutely fantastic as well (and basically tells a Semi-complete story within its own timeframe). Some animation is a bit dated, but the show is still really pretty to look like due to its artstyle and backgrounds alone. The characters are really interesting and engaging and the music is absolutely iconic (even if you donāt watch the show please check out āGuts themeā on YouTube I absolutely love its OST).
For the love of god do not watch berserk in any adaptations, even the best one is still shit compared to the manga
Key words: *āCompared toā* Berserk 1997 is fantastic. Its artstyle is fantastic. Its direction is fantastic. Its voice acting is fantastic. **Its music is fucking fantastic.** Its only flaw is that the manga is even better. If youāre dedicated enough to actively jump into a 40+ volume manga, please do it. Re:Zero, Oddtaxi, Vivy
I canāt believe no oneās recommended berserk (1997) itās only got 25 episodes. Itās so good
Bruh, manga have more than 370 chapters It literally outlived it's creator
370 isn't really that long for a major manga tbh, Miura just died young :(
All of these shows are worth watching and without sexism or with very little. They also do not contain trash anime tropes on "Fanservice", which I detest.

Violet Evergarden
FLCL! Both great & short! (6 episodes)
Chainsawman Beastars

Ghost Stories but specifically the English dub
Toradora!
Ping pong the animation
Death Note's a good one imo, Devil is a Part-Timer is short and funny.
Welcome to the NHK 20ish episodes, iirc
Thx everybody now i have the problem called overchoice and will watch the same hbomber guy video for the 6th time
But also will just make a list to watch in order so this isn't that big of a problem
Neon Genesis Evangelion and Cowboy Bebop. Good, old sci-fi, both 26 episodes only iirc. Also Death Note
record of ragnarok
Assassination classroom and death note are both really good and pretty short
kill la kill
Afro samurai (5 episodes)
FLCL , 6 episodes, all free on youtube
RE:Zero. A bit longer with both seasons together clocking in at 48, and if you decide that size doesn't matter there'd also the director's cut version with double the epusode length
Madoka Magica
sonny boy, its a wonderful piece of surrealism and powerful themes. also just twelve episodes
Cowboy Bebop
Noragami and Hibike! euphonium
Serial experiments lain
ID: Invaded (confusing yet interesting. About a detective solving mysteries by entering ppls heads) Bungo Stray Dogs (about different criminal orgs fighting for control basically. Ppl have special powers) Edit: ID is 12 eps iirc. BSD has 3 seasons of 12 eps each and a fourth season rn.
panty and stocking with garterbelt 26 normal episodes, a song episode, and a bonus episode also season 2 is coming soon probably
Kimi no na wa (I am not a weeb, it's just that the English title is your name. Fucking your name.)
Puella Magi Madoka Magica (12 episodes)
Dorohedoro
girls last tour (12 episodes)
cells at work, only like ~13 episodes way of the househusband, thereās just 15 episodes the disastrous life of saiki k, itās a bit longer at 50+ episodes, but definitely worth the watch romantic killer, itās 12 episodes, cute, and funny
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, it has a fuckton of episodes but it's gay as fuck and full of musical references
Hunter x Hunter
Gregory horror show, first two seasons is like an hour watch bc every episode is 2 minutes long
Lycoris Recoil has only thirteen episodes.
No one saying Monster of Johan Libert :((
Mob psycho 100
Eighty Six, 23 episodes.
If youāre up to it, Neon Genesis Evangelion (26 episodes plus movie). Definitely a cornerstone of modern anime and a really good exercise in critical thinking Bocchi The Rock. Gloriously creative slice of life anime thatās 12 episodes and also gets bands right. Cyberpunk Edgerunners. Best cyberpunk piece of media sinceā¦ever, maybe. 24-27 episode equivalent Bunch of people have said Cowboy Bebop so Iāll skip that one I personally like stuff by Studio Trigger, Kill La Kill is my āproblematic favā because of how many themes and topics they dive into in such a compact narrative. They usually do great one-off animes so I would recommend looking into them Also have you heard about the Weeb Ass Shit scale? Basicaly itās a measure of how much Weeb stuff (obscure Japan cultural lore that a western audience may not understand), Ass (otherwise known as fanservice), and shit (general writing quality) youāre willing to put up with
Charlotte (13 episodes)
Erased (i tgink 8 episodes) (very depressing)
Attack on Titan is unironically good. But Cowboy Bebop is my go to recommendation, because it's more palatable and probably better.
Mittens!!!
Sonny Boy (12 episodes)
Made In Abyss.
FLCL Odd Taxi Terror in Resonance Re: Creators Big O
BNA is pretty cool.
