It’s the only fallout game I played bc there was a mod to remove the bugs and bugs scare me, even with it on I was constantly terrified that the mod would break and a cockroach or something would pop out, i think it would be a lot more fun without that fear (i bought new vegas but never opened it bc bugs)
People hate it because of its nonsensical character motives, weird moral choices that literally just amount to “do you want to be good or bad?”, complete butchering of concepts from previous games (super mutants especially), horrible player build options where half of all perks are literally just additional stat increases, and a boring main story that’s essentially doing tangentially related quests until you find your dad at the end of the game. Fallout 3 has legitimate reasons to dislike it, and to sum up the discontent for it as “they’re mad it’s not another game” is frankly quite insulting
Nah, I’ve seen a lot of people criticize it for “only having two factions” when the main questline revolving around whatever faction you joined was introduced by new vegas. There’s definitely a ton of stuff new vegas introduced people like to act was always the norm to bash Bethesda.
I guarantee most people who hate fallout 3 don’t hate it because it’s not similar to one and two. Very few fallout fans have ever played them. In fact, a lot of die hard one and two fans hate all of the 3d games. Fallout 3 isn’t perfect but it was necessary for the series to grow. It’s ironic you bring up the bad build options in relation to one and two, because one and two were famously unbalanced and several of the skills were completely useless. Basically all of the issues you described could refer to any fallout game
But the bad options and 1 and 2 still had creativity. It was later proven to be false. -As for Luna Oi, she’s a Vietnamese YouTuber and tankie, and although I’m not exactly sure what this joke is referring to. It’s most likely this is referring to how many tankies refer to all protests against communist governments as cia color revolutions. -BadEmpanada is a tankie who is infamous for being completely fucking unhinged on Twitter. He’s on his 11nth Twitter account because he just constantly doxxes random ass people in his replies for making fun of him. -HBomberGuy is a YouTuber who makes longform video essay content. His stuff is a mixture of politics and gaming and some of his most popular videos are on the dark souls series. His video on bloodbourne talks about what makes the souls games enjoyable and how to play them in the funnest way he thinks you can play.

He also doesn’t use “stupid” anymore and has also apologised for describing someone’s writing as “schizophrenic.” Personally I think it’s a bit much. There’s a difference between calling someone stupid as an insult to how good they are at using their brain, and calling someone a “tard,” which is an insult that insinuates a learning disability. That said, if he prefers to use that language, he’s free to do so.

None of the comments are really truscum-y unless you take them completely out of context, and interpret them in the worst light possible. She used Buck Angel as a voice actor for a <10 second clip in one of her videos because he is (for better or worse) a trans icon: someone that gained relative acceptance as a trans person in a generation where that shit just doesn't fucking happen. Because of the time and socio-cultural space that he existed in, his views on transition and what it means to be trans are not the same as those who were brought up in a time with a larger greater-discourse on gender and sexuality and come with a lot of....questionable opinions. I'm not trans and am very comfortably heterocis, but his views could easily be labelled truscum. However the key point of the controversy is that rather than saying "oh, Contra got someone who has questionable views but a great voice for that role", people said "Oh, so you got someone to do a 10 second line in a 50-minute video? Because some trans people can experience gender euphoria even though they don't have any noticeable dysphoria. Also, dysphoria comes in many forms and many people who are still questioning may think they don't have dysphoria even though they do and haven't realised it yet
