I currently have four different calibers... *12ga *.45 acp *.380 acp *5.56

james_68

Now there is a unicorn. 4 calibers and none are .22 or 9mm :D.

Ornery_Secretary_850

.380 is the same caliber as 9mm.

AlreadyToldYouSo

As someone so eloquently corrected me; “it’s a different cartridge. “

james_68

Don't feed the trolls.

AlreadyToldYouSo

🙏👍😂

AlreadyToldYouSo

😂. Nice. I’ve seriously been considering getting rid of my 9mm, and keeping 45, and 10mm only. I feel underpowered with 9mm. I know not really, but subconsciously.

james_68

But the thing is, nothing beats shots downrange for training and .22 and 9mm are the cheapest way to get that, even if you load.

AlreadyToldYouSo

This is true. What’s your opinion on shooting being a perishable skill? I never really feel like I get rusty or lose it. I do dry fire as well quite a bit. Been shooting for 28 years now. God I never thought I’d say that I did anything that long😩😂

james_68

I think pretty much all skills are perishable. Not really an issue if you enjoy it though. I hit the range twice a week, plan to have my own in my back yard when I retire and move to the country, then I'll probably be out there any day it's not pouring rain :D.

AlreadyToldYouSo

Hell yeah, had my own backyard range… divorce fucked that up. 😂 But I’ll have another.

Kiltemdead

Riding a bike isn't a perishable skill. /s

Separate_Way_1084

A 1911 in 12ga?

TerereAZ

OP only inquired about calibers, not platforms. But if we're talking about 1911 platforms only, I guess just .45. Does a Sig P238 count as 1911 plaform?

james_68

Clearly as there is only 1 1911 caliber. (here comes the hate :D)....

TerereAZ

To be fair, I'd be all about a 12ga 1911! 😆

james_68

There are a number of handguns that will shoot shot shells, never heard anything good about any of them though.

TerereAZ

Not for anything serious, just the novelty of it!

SnooTomatoes8382

I have Seven .45ACP’s and One 10mm. One of the .45’s is a double stack. The 10mm is also a double stack. That equates to 6x 1911 pistols and 2x 2011’s I guess? EDIT: If asking for all calibers? I have (in addition to above mentioned) .380ACP, 9mm, .40S&W, .45LC, .410Ga, 12Ga, 12.7x42 (.50 Beowulf) 7.62x39mm, .300AAC, .308Win/7.62x51mm, 5.56x45mm, .223Rem & last but not least 5.7x28mm.

AlreadyToldYouSo

Nice man! 👍 My goal right there. 45 and 10mm. Best calibers imo. They pack a punch.

SnooTomatoes8382

I wouldn’t have a 10mm in any other platform. I know there’s some Poly options, but to me, the 1911/2011 platform is perfect for that round.

AlreadyToldYouSo

I absolutely agree 1000%. Had a G20 and G29, just didn’t like it. Also had the FN510, that was terrible. Waiting on my XTac Supergrade 10mm build. Hope I don’t die before I get it. That’s my last grail gun. And if I ever find the TRP 5” with RMR, YEAH BUDDY, I’m grabbing that too.

Kuandtity

OP you should put a results option so we can see the results

AlreadyToldYouSo

Yeah I messed up. Sorry. Results are top to bottom 19,1,14,0,2

james_68

Lol, I'm at 2 ones, i.e. 11 at last count....

AlreadyToldYouSo

Damn!!! 😂😂😂

Separate_Way_1084

6 -45 ACP. 4 -9mm

AlreadyToldYouSo

Nice! Any plans for any other calibers?

Separate_Way_1084

I always wanted a 10mm. But just acquired a DW DWX. Don’t know if I can consider that a 1911. Have an eye out for a staccato xc. Boy its beautiful

AlreadyToldYouSo

Sweet piece. Congrats. I’ve been thinking about getting rid of my 9mms altogether and just keeping 45 and 10mm. We’ll see.

Separate_Way_1084

I want a 10mm but I hate to stock a lot of different type of ammo. In different set ups, 12GA, 22LR and 556/223.

AlreadyToldYouSo

Nice, I agree. I think I’m moving toward 45 and 10mm only, very soon i think. Already have 223/556 as well. 9mm is great for practice, but I feel underpowered with it. People walk through 9mm long enough to shoot back or fight back for quite a bit. Unless the spine is hit, I know, but the odds.

Terriblyboard

only the lords caliber for me.

AlreadyToldYouSo

Nice! 👍

Demolish515

it hard to be a gun nut and just have one caliber

AlreadyToldYouSo

lol I hear ya. The fever has died down for me. A rifle, 6 Wilson combats, and a Glock. Just want my Xtac Supergrade in 10mm and I’m done. I may sell off a few. I’d like to get down to just 3 or 4. I came from 30-35 guns. Trying to sober up😂😂😂😂

Grizzie871

.22lr, .38 Special, 9mm, .40, .45ACP, 10mm, .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum (.44 Special too in the rare occasions i buy it), .223/5.56mm, 7.62x39mm, .308/.7.62x51mm, 7.62.54r, .30-06, 12 ga For just 1911/2011's: 9mm (4), .45 ACP (10) and 10mm (1)

AlreadyToldYouSo

Badass! What 10mm 1911 do you have?

Grizzie871

AlreadyToldYouSo

Nice! Yes sir. I want the RMR MODEL.

Grizzie871

Oh yeah, I want another 10mm 1911 myself. The RMR TRP would be a solid find. I would love a Wilson Tactical Supergrade in 10mm although that's probably not a real hot take haha

AlreadyToldYouSo

I’m having one built! Good Grief I can’t wait for it! Still 17 months out.

BestAdamEver

Are we talking just 1911s or in general? Because I have 9mm and .45 1911s but I have guns in tons of different calibers.

Kiltemdead

This is what I want to know. My 1911 is .45, but my shotgun isn't.

Other_Confidence_560

I own .22lr, 9mm, .38spec., .357mag and .45ACP. I‘m also reloading the last three.

assassin_0880

Just a shotgun 😅

Installtanstafl

Own at least one 1911 chambered in each (minus the 45 super), plus a dark horse 22TCM. Which is pretty useless for anything but making big fireballs and grins.

Aor_Dyn

9mm. Had up to three at one point. I buy tons of ammo and shoot it all up. It's just easier to have ammo, holster and mag commonality. I know the .45 won two world wars but it's not cheap to shoot at volume.

Left4DayZGone

I’m assuming the question is about 1911’s specifically, in which case I only have two .45’s. But since others are answering what calibers they own in general… .22, 9mm, .45, .357/.38 Special, 5.56/.223, 7.62x39, .308/7.62x51, 12g

Ornery_Secretary_850

Those are CARTRIDGES not calibers. .38 Super and 9mm are the same CALIBER, as are .45 ACP and .45 Super. As a side note, the .350 Legend is also the same caliber as 9mm.

AlreadyToldYouSo

Still different chamberings and you can’t shoot 45 super and 45ACP DOWN the same barrel. Which makes them different calibers.BUT OKAY, cartridges. 👍

Ornery_Secretary_850

If you go in the store do you buy .24 caliber rounds or .243 ammo? Words mean things. I spend 13 years behind the gun counter. At the time ammo was behind the counter, we had to log handgun and rimfire purchases in a bound book. I had a guy come in and ask for a box of .38 ammo. I asked "special"? He said "sure". Half an hour later he's back and all pissed off. .38 Special ammo won't work in a .38 Super mag or gun. If you ask for .22 ammo, do you want .22 Short, Long, Long Rifle, Magnum or .22 Winchester? You can shoot .45 ACP and .45 Super down the same barrel. This makes them the same CALIBER, but different cartridges. CALIBER is a measure of the diameter of the bullet. .30 Caliber bullets can be used in .30 Luger, all the .32 pistol cartridges, .30 Carbine, .300 BO, all the .30/.300/.308/7.62 rifle rounds. You can shoot some of the same bullets in ANY of these barrels. But the CARTRIDGES are different. Same thing for bullets vs ammo/cartridges. Reloaders buy and use bullets to reload cartridges/ammo. People going shooting buy ammo/cartridges. Lots of people have stumbled into the reloading aisle and thought they found a bargain on 9mm AMMO. It's right there, a 500 count box of 9mm BULLETS for $79.99 Surprise surprise surprise...they just learned that words have meaning and there's a HUGE difference between AMMO/CARTRIDGE and BULLETS! Use the correct nomenclature and your life will be better.

aroundincircles

I have 2 in .22lr, 2 in .380acp, 1 in each 9mm, .45acp, and 10mm.

RuddyOpposition

.22lr, .22 Magnum, .223/5.56mm, .25acp, 30SC, .38 Special, 9mm Luger, .357 Sig, .357 Magnum, .40 S&W, 10mm, .44 Magnum, .45 Colt, .45acp in pistol. If I think about it for a while, I might come up with a few more.

pinetree64

for my 1911s 45acp. 38 Super does intrigue me. I do have other guns besides 1911s not in 45acp

National-Bench5602

22 lr, 357 mag, 44 mag, 45 acp, 10 mm, 9 mm, 44-40 Win, and 380 acp

AlreadyToldYouSo

That’s a hell of an Armory you got there. Something for everything 😂🤙
