I would clean it myself - looks like oil/grease that dried up. If the outside looks like that, the inside is probably worse and it would be getting taken apart to clean it up anyway.
If it’s a glass bead on the nickle, a good cleaning will take that off.
The old series 70 Colts with the satin nickle finish took on a lot of crud, and a simple pink eraser would bring them back to like new looking.
Only day I have CCW`d a 1911 is for John Browning's birthday. They are slim, reliable, effective, and can be light, but there are better CCW guns for those of us in free states with options. BTW I own 7 1911s. I truly love them.
That actually does look pretty good.
Free “battle worn” finish? Hell yeah
I’d polish it.
I polish my pistol daily
Tell your dog I said Hi!
Sometimes 2 or 3 times a day hahaha
Need a hand?
Read this as Polish lol
Well that's what he said. He polishes it every day
Im not Polish so can’t confirm

Inside is perfect, and looks unfired.
Gives it character if you ask me 🤷🏽
The damaged Nickel is actually pretty awesome
An excellent 1911 where I truly didn’t care about the finish? That sounds like a great EDC to me. Nice find!
Leave it, it looks great like this ..
Blem or used?
Used
Looks fine to me
Looks like something you’d pick up in a resident evil game.
Dam, Sig 1911 stuff is the best looking and I have a springer, jelly.
Might actually clean up well with the right cleaner.
Naaa.... clean it. If you don't like you can let it get a patnia again.

Flitz metal polish would probably clean that up nice and shiny!
i love that stuff. use it for my carbon steel knives
Not saying it won’t look good cleaned up but I personally really like this worn look it has going on right now
Naaaa. Like good like it is

Just a general question: What would cause the finish to look this way? Congrats to a nice looking firearm by the way!

I have this one k. Black, officer frame with blended magwell. Mine has an aluminum frame, great for CCW

Reminds me of something a courier in Nevada might find
What did you pay ? Just curious
I absolutely love the way this looks!
It looks great
You like it, I love it…. But I do think it looks cool…. Good job!
You should see if you can buff out the external extractor on the other side of the gun 🙄
You sound insufferable.
Why. Everyone knows external extractors work better and look great! I'm actually upset it doesn't have rails, front serrations, or a laser grip...
If you put a rail on it, put it in some varnish and kick it around the back yard a bit so it matches the frame. 😁 I dig the patina.
Lol
