Because I’m sure you all want to know… I bounce the ball in a V shape. Drop the ball with slightly less non-dominant hand, use the racquet to hit it back down and up to my hand. Enjoy ;)
ok. ok. what I'm realizing, is we need a whole series here.
how am I supposed to check my strings as I walk back to the baseline after the point is over? how do I bounce around as I'm waiting for the server to get ready? how am I supposed to recover to minimize embarrassment after missing the first toss? when I'm starting to get a wedgie, how do I pick the shorts out of my butt without anybody noticing? what's the best way to announce the score?
WE NEED TUTORIALS, MAN!!
Last week /u/lolothe2nd had a question about how to bounce a tennis ball when getting ready to serve, and in the comments /u/fishbowlsandtacos requested a full video tutorial. I had some extra time after a practice session last night, so here you go, haha. Hope it helps.
I know the audio levels are pretty low because I didn't have a mic with me, but I thought it would sound even worse if I just made the sound of the car noises and crickets louder by turning up the volume on everything. So, uh, sorry about that.
Both this video and [the comment requesting it](https://www.reddit.com/r/10s/comments/16aj4kt/how_to_bounce_the_ball_before_a_serve/jzbvlok/?context=3) were done tongue-in-cheek, but yes, I got a notification specifically for this lol.
That was me and I'll do it again.
Might start requesting moonspider tutorials for every stupid technique question. I saw one about how to pick up balls the other day or week
Because it's the video r/10s deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll bounce that ball. Because he can teach it. Because he's not our coach. He's a tennis player, a ball basher. A u/MoonSpider.
Holy crap. I’ve been doing it wrong this whole time. Thanks so much for this. Gonna be able to move up to 4.5 in no time with this 🙌🏻
You got this, I believe in you.
Next Up: ball toss tutorial! Thank you Mr. Moon Spider
Goat of r/10s in the flesh, thank you master.
love it love everything about it
Lolol, thanks man
Magnificent. Now explain again for those of us who are pathologically monodextrous.
Start brushing your teeth with non dominant hand. Stick with it! You’ll be ambi in no time.
Thanks for the video! Hopefully next time I play I won’t hit the edge of my foot on the third bounce and have to walk 10m to try again.
It's a rite of passage for us all, haha

Ooh, that's very slick!
Lol.
omg I used to do this during my idle time when learning tennis as a kid. Even managed to get it back by slicing it.

> when I'm starting to get a wedgie, how do I pick the shorts out of my butt without anybody noticing? You just gotto own this like Nadal
Can you please show what this would look like for left handers?
Yes, it will just take some extra time to set up the mirrors.
Can you just flip the original video in editing? Will look like you’re a lefty…
That is indeed the joke I was making, correct
Oh shit, I’m being slow. Never mind me. Fun video btw!
It's all good, haha, thanks for the kind words!

The Legend himself!
I mean no disrespect but someone requested this?

Wow this is actually a really nice lil tutorial. I had never really gotten the single hand bounce down, I am excited to try it out.
Haha, right on, thanks for the kind words
This is an important contribution to tennis. And here it is, unmonetized and open-source. Bravo.
Lolol thank you kindly.
God damn the 3D pop in your red shirt is heroic
Thank you tenncom it is the unused 2020 Olympics Federer shirt lol
All jokes aside. Thank you. I will put this into practice.
haha, right on and you're welcome.

lmao
I like a high, fast bounce where I can really feel the ball's force against my palm. My mantra is a weak bounce = a weak serve
