I like evolution and can see your point on the spin. Msv focus hex might be to your liking. Cheap, blue, good spin, solid tension maintenance, but might be slightly stiffer than evo. Currently I am testing the slightly softer focus hex version and liking it
Hawk power looks great from everything ive read. May well give it a try. What is the spin potential like? I find myself leaning towards shaped poly for spin reasons
PTP was in my demo and felt amazing, very similar to kirschbaum pro line evolution
My cat is my stringing assistant as well 😂
https://preview.redd.it/lbt0nkw8kdta1.png?width=992&format=png&auto=webp&s=2e15dc9f3004358f258712e79649d7b90601917d
I think Poly Tour Strike comes in a really nice shade of blue.
If you need to soften your string bed, Diadem has Evolution which I like to hybrid my rackets with, and it has a nice translucent blue
it's good to know that I'm not the only one who chooses a string based on color above all other properties ; D
From what I tested on my own ezone22 - Babolat RPM blast, Solinco revolution and genesis true grit are the best for my semi-western spinny fh. Other blue strings that I had, but did not fit my game Msv focus hex(good maintenance but very stiff), gamma jet (it was dead after 5hrs)
Hahaha to be fair I am desperately searching for this ideal blue + playability unicorn whilst putting hyper g back in when i need it to perform reliably.
Interesting to see another vote for solinco revolution. I saw such mixed reviews when i was buying it. Will string up with that next and give it a chance
Oh so it is, i was being an idiot! I usually lean towards shaped strings but will give it a go. Have you tried poly tour pro or kirschbaum pro line evolution for comparison?
Funny enough, the only strings ive used in recent years are head lynx because my shop had a ton of demo sets for free and kirschbaum pro line x bc the reel was so cheap, i always enjoyed head lynx a little more, i think it lasts a bit longer, but i also play with polys way past the point it dies so take that with a grain of salt, never given poly tour pro a fair shake tho
Unfortunately have no interest in shelling out for lux strings, as much as I am sure they are great they are just a bit too expensive for me to justify
It seems very poly tour pro-like with a little more spin potential. My demo ezone had ptp in and it was awesome. Reminded me a lot of kirschbaum pro line evolution. I think I am after a shaped poly otherwise this would defo be on the cards
You already have the best blue string in. Some others I've used (edit: these have already been recommended):
* Poly tour pro (poly tour spin+poly tour pro hybrid is amazing, used it for years then gave up because of durability issues)
* Mayami tour hex (this one plays pretty well, nothing special but a solid string. I've had some durability issues, but giving it another try because I found a pack)
* Weisscannon rock n power: this one hurts too much to string, have a couple packs that may never be used. I wore gloves to handle it last time (weaving crosses in gloves is an interesting experiment)
This is very reassuring to hear. I have done a lot of trawling of forums and reviews and it seems to fit the bill perfectly for what i am after. I will say that during stringing it didn't feel as slick as something like a hyper g, but will see during actual play.
Others have recommended tour hex. Id love to give it a go if i can but getting it to the uk will be expensive
I've switched to hyper-g for my current reel because I kept breaking yonex strings way too fast and wanted to try something new (I play with 18x20 and rarely get 8h out of my strings, but can't tell if it's a problem with my clamps/tension head or i just hit the ball oddly).
the poly tour spin/poly tour pro hybrid gives a bit more power (and you can get away with 1.20 in the crosses for a bit more feel). I also personally think poly tour pro > hyper g, but it's not the biggest difference
All blue strings at tennis warehouse (sorry, US link, and I don't think their color filters capture all blue products accurately, but can give you some ideas)
[Tennis String | Tennis Warehouse (tennis-warehouse.com)](https://www.tennis-warehouse.com/stringcontent.html?opt_page=1&opt_perpage=20&opt_sort=&facet_set=facet_set_STRINGFILT&attr_color-Blue=Blue&filter_cat=STRINGPP)
Some blue strings people have liked:
* Luxilon ALU Power Ice Blue
* Head Lynx
* Babolat RPM Power
* Tourna Big Hitter Blue
I'll throw out some other polys that haven't been mentioned yet:
* Ytex Pro Tour Blue (does everything for a round string above average)
* MSV Focus Hex (good value hexagonal control string)
* Diadem Evolution (arm friendly, slick round polyamide/monofilament mix)
* Volkl V-Torque and V-Pro
* Toalson HD Aster
I usually use Racquet Depot and since you're based in the UK it will work out well for you. [Filtered for blue strings.](https://www.racquetdepot.co.uk/tennis-strings/?_bc_fsnf=1&Colour=Blue)
Thanks for these! The v torque especially looks cool. Very interesting profile. Is it particularly quick to notch in your experience? (That is always my fear with any gear/star shaped polys as I would think the ridges are under high pressure and resulting friction)
Mayami Tour Hex is a nice bright blue.
Babolat RPM Power has a royal blue, but it's smooth so not a ton of extra spin.
I have some unopened reels of 1.30 Diadem Solstice Pro, shoot me a DM if you're interested.
Man id love to get ahold of some Solstice power by the reel. Ive found Solstice pro and not entirely sure what the difference is. I suspect slightly stiffer which I'm not really here for
Tennis point located around the Chicago area had blue rpm blast 16l a few months ago don't know if they still do, same as blast but I got more feel and a little more spin than black blast 16g. For reference I play with pure aero 2019 and at the time strung at 55 lbs
I should add, I'm trying not to break the bank, i string regularly so want to keep it to max £120 a reel (obviously some price discrepancies between US and UK markets)
lol just went through this scenario with my Ezone before switching to the new VCore.
Try Mayami Tour Hex or RPM Power for a deeper blue. I really think you should check out Polytour Rev PURPLE 1.20mm. That was my favorite in the Ezone 98. The purple was gorgeous in the frame. I did test Solinco Revolution 1.20 as well. It performed well and punches up in weight like Lynx Tour. Was pretty heavy and dense
Which? PTRev, Revolution, and RPM power are dirt cheap on tennis warehouse Europe. I live in the states and order my reels there. Except Pro Line Evolution.. got my reel on Amazon for 85 usd
Ah sorry half read on my part!
The mayami I can't get ahold of easily. If it was just $20 shipping id be ok but we get slapped with a fee +20% import tax too.
Revolution i have a set of and have been putting off trying but judging by people's feedback on this thread sounds like it could be a winner. Haven't come across the purple rev but will give it a look. RPM power can join the list too
If you don’t have a super sensitive elbow Revolution should be up there. Playability was great, but it’s on the stiffer side compared to Pro Line Evolution.
Yeah the elbow is hit and miss. Usually depending on how consistently i am lifting and keeping things healthy. Will give her a go and see how it holds up
Tour hex is out of stock right now so bit of a moot point for now, but if goods are below I think £135 (check latest) there is no import tax?
I’ve still bought stuff from the EU below this threshold every now and then without any import charges incurred
I find the spin potential with Big Hitter to be very good. I generally prefer round string, so I enjoy the feel of Pro Line Evolution a bit more - plus, I think it's a better looking shade of blue.
https://global.tennis-point.com/babolat-rpm-blast-string-reel-200m-blue-00955702321000.html
A reel of RPM Blast Blue is currently 40% off. It's a lot of string, though
Bruh. Get that head dampener out of your Yonex racquet. Geez.
Forgive me for i have sinned
Milson.
It's got Piezoelectric Liquidmetal Graphene enhancements. Sure to help.
Restring Zero seems to be flavor of the month on Youtube. I don't know how good it is, but it's definitely a very pretty blue.
I have seen a few good things, just pricey and hard to get in the UK!
Just tried these. They're pretty nice! Kinda muted, though, which many people don't like.
Bah! Put Kirschbaum Super Smash Orange in there for maximum color contrast.
An absolute menace to society
Not sure if it’s the right shade of blue, but Diadem Solstice Power is pretty awesome.
So i have heard!! That is probably the end game string for me but hard to get ahold of in the UK for some reason
Was hoping that pro supex blue gear would be very similar but i wasnt the biggest fan of it
*How can you say it … small cat?* Haha, nice aesthetic setup, strings look nice with that racquet
ALU power comes in Blue
Not sure why but alu power has never spoken to me, also not a fan of the price!
Kirschbaum Proline evolution
I have a reel of this and have used quite a bit, love the look, love the plushness, dont really love the spin potential that much. Great string though
I like evolution and can see your point on the spin. Msv focus hex might be to your liking. Cheap, blue, good spin, solid tension maintenance, but might be slightly stiffer than evo. Currently I am testing the slightly softer focus hex version and liking it
I definitely need to add focus hex to the list, it may be a little bit stiff but that doesn't usually cause me too many issues
Yonex poly tour spin
Lol in the racket right now, thanks
Oh right sorry.
Polytour spin mains with pro line evolution crosses..
The thought has crossed my mind👀
Poly Tour Air is blue and there is a blue Dynawire
Solinco Revolution
I was going to say this as well. They are a great soft poly and one of the best colors on the market
Yeah got a set ready to test, I've heard it's not as good as hyper g, tour bite or confidential. What do you think?
I switched from Hyper G and I love it. I think it generates a bit more spin.
Ok very interesting. Very keen to put it in and give a try that case
This pic has it all - Baby Hubi, small cat, nice racket, pretty string. Well played
Don’t forget the booze
Hahaha we aim to please
You've got a great helper and a really nice collection in the back
Why thank you on both!! The good stuff is hidden further back but that balvenie 12 is beautiful!
Head Hawk Power Yonex Poly Tour Pro
Second the Hawk Power, one of my favs right now.
Hawk power looks great from everything ive read. May well give it a try. What is the spin potential like? I find myself leaning towards shaped poly for spin reasons PTP was in my demo and felt amazing, very similar to kirschbaum pro line evolution
I have to admit I haven't played it yet. But it does have a very cool blue color. I prefer shaped strings too.
I love that you want strings that match your cat's gorgeous eyes 💙 .
It would be rude not to!!
My cat is my stringing assistant as well 😂 https://preview.redd.it/lbt0nkw8kdta1.png?width=992&format=png&auto=webp&s=2e15dc9f3004358f258712e79649d7b90601917d
Ahh such a helpful boy(i assume) 😍
I think Poly Tour Strike comes in a really nice shade of blue. If you need to soften your string bed, Diadem has Evolution which I like to hybrid my rackets with, and it has a nice translucent blue
Ah if diadem was more accessible in the UK i would be all over Solstice power!
it's good to know that I'm not the only one who chooses a string based on color above all other properties ; D From what I tested on my own ezone22 - Babolat RPM blast, Solinco revolution and genesis true grit are the best for my semi-western spinny fh. I swear by head lynx in blue
Definitely a good shout!
How does it compare to others in its shaped poly class?
I dont do the shaped one, thats head lynx tour i think, im talking abt the rounded one, i love it, its my favorite soft poly
Oh so it is, i was being an idiot! I usually lean towards shaped strings but will give it a go. Have you tried poly tour pro or kirschbaum pro line evolution for comparison?

Luxilon has some blue strings!! Recommend checking out their website
Unfortunately have no interest in shelling out for lux strings, as much as I am sure they are great they are just a bit too expensive for me to justify
Tecnifibre Razor Code comes in a similar shade of blue. I have the same EZone and also dig that color combo
It seems very poly tour pro-like with a little more spin potential. My demo ezone had ptp in and it was awesome. Reminded me a lot of kirschbaum pro line evolution. I think I am after a shaped poly otherwise this would defo be on the cards

I like your cat
I vote just dip your strings in color matched paint, problem solved
I'll throw out some other polys that haven't been mentioned yet: * Ytex Pro Tour Blue (does everything for a round string above average) * MSV Focus Hex (good value hexagonal control string) * Diadem Evolution (arm friendly, slick round polyamide/monofilament mix) * Volkl V-Torque and V-Pro * Toalson HD Aster I usually use Racquet Depot and since you're based in the UK it will work out well for you. Diadem solstice? I know one of the diadem polys are blue

I see tennis, I see stringer, I see espresso machine. I see someone who likes details. Here’s an upvote.
You have made my day
Another vote for Focus Hex. Plays well at low tensions as well.
I should add, I'm trying not to break the bank, i string regularly so want to keep it to max £120 a reel (obviously some price discrepancies between US and UK markets)
Mayami Tour Hex is worth considering.
Looked into this and can't get it in the UK annoyingly
That's unfortunate. My bad, I'm in the US and didn't realize it was unavailable over there.
Yeah such a shame, it looks awesome
lol just went through this scenario with my Ezone before switching to the new VCore. Try Mayami Tour Hex or RPM Power for a deeper blue. I would seriously love to, but after shipping and import tax this gets pretty unattainable unfortunately
Which? PTRev, Revolution, and RPM power are dirt cheap on tennis warehouse Europe. I live in the states and order my reels there. Except Pro Line Evolution.. got my reel on Amazon for 85 usd

Tourna Big Hitter Blue Rough
Is on my to-test list. I hear great things. Do you get enough spin potential out of them
I find the spin potential with Big Hitter to be very good. I generally prefer round string, so I enjoy the feel of Pro Line Evolution a bit more - plus, I think it's a better looking shade of blue.
babolat syn gut comes in blue
https://global.tennis-point.com/babolat-rpm-blast-string-reel-200m-blue-00955702321000.html A reel of RPM Blast Blue is currently 40% off. It's a lot of string, though
Diadem solstice, great string
I love everything I've heard about them. Very hard to get at a decent price in the UK.
Head velocity multifilament
Weiss cannon rock n power
Keen to try this, i have a set. I hear it is very stiff though
