HOW GREEN IS MY VALLEY 

For Bobby’s supporters in South Texas, here is more information about his upcoming appearance from the Monitor. 

The RFK Jr. for President group is organizing a road trip from Austin to Edinburgh for the event, so if you’d like to join us, drop an email and let us know appx. how many cars/people you’re bringing along. We will be leaving Austin around 10am Weds., and can help arrange hotel accommodations for those who wish to stay overnight.

We plan on seating the entire group together in the UTPA Auditorium (admission is free), so if you would like to sit with us, we’ll be meeting up outside the auditorium around 6:30 p.m.. Doors open at 7 p.m., Bobby’s speech begins at 7:30 p.m. sharp.

If you live outside of Austin and still want to meet up with the Kennedy for President group in Edinburgh, please feel free to join us for dinner before Bobby’s speech. We will be gathering the troops together at a restaurant near the UTPA campus, and invite all of you to come out and get to know others in the movement. Email us for time and exact location of the gathering. It will be great fun!

We’re looking forward to meeting many of you in person after many months of chatting “virtually” on this blog. So come on out for the pre-event dinner, meet some new friends, and hear RFK Jr. give a great speech.

EDINBURG — The University of Texas-Pan American is going green for its seventh-annual International Week event.

The university, and several others throughout the country, is slated to run a series of events this week to promote awareness of other cultures.

International Education Week, which begins Monday and ends Friday, is a joint initiative between the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to prepare students for work in a global environment.

This year’s UTPA theme is “Earth Matters.” Its activities include art exhibits, speeches and panels to address environmental changes, global politics, economics, health and other issues.

The weeklong festivities also include a speech from Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an environmentalist, attorney, author and son of slain U.S. Sen. Robert F. Kennedy. He is also a nephew of slain President John F. Kennedy.

Kennedy is slated to discuss “Our Environmental Destiny” on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the university’s fine arts auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public.

His scheduled appearance is the latest in the university’s “Distinguished Speaker” series. Last month, former Soviet Union leader Mikhail Gorbachev spoke at the university.
